Hello! I'm looking for some help picking hair products as i've never thought of using anything other than basic shampoo and conditioner before. My problem is when i wash my hair it's fluffy and unmanageable for 2-3 days, after that it gets some natural grease in it and it starts to look much better and allows me to sweep it to one side and leave it like that I'm just wondering if there's any hair products that can help with this basic styling after a shower, nothing too extreme, just something to stop it being so fluffy! I'm not a fan of how gels feel as it makes my hair feel like it's clumped together.
If you've got thick hair you can usually get away with washing it every 2 days or so anyway, and you can use less shampoo/conditioner too, depends how long your hair is Hair is much easier to style when wet too, get it how you want it then use something like wax or pomade that has a matte look instead of glossy like gel, which is a bit outdated now. Your hair should dry in that position and is much easier to maintain a style with Also I guess just use decent shampoo and conditioner, none of that 2-in-1 hair and body wash stuff
I've been using some V05 stuff that says on the tub that it styles like gel and holds like wax or some shit like that. it sets to an inbetween of glossy and matte finish and it holds for a while. it wasn't cheap, but it's nice to use and smells decent too, so I'd recommend that. before that I was using some tesco own brand clay and it was crap, it lasted about all of an hour and smelled pretty crap too. spend some money and go for a decent brand.
I know this is marketed toward women, but have you considered dry shampoo? It keeps the hair from looking greasy, dull and flat so you don't have to oversaw it. There's a lot of brands and if you do it correctly you can't even tell. Thank god for sisters...
https://www.amazon.com/Head-Matte-Separation-Workable-TIGI/dp/B00Z08NA8Q/ref=sr_1_1_s_it?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1533069076&sr=1-1&keywords=Bed+Head+Men+Matte+Separation+Workable+Wax+by+TIGI-+3oz+%282pk It's amazing, I use it all the time and don't even have to use a blow dryer to get my hair into a more specific fashion as this is already extremely moldable.
american crew fiber is usually recommended, i've found it gives kind of a shiny texture but it's also kind of matte and doesn't make it greasy/clumpy. wanna agree with the dry shampoo recommendation too. there are recipes online which are mostly just baking soda if you feel inclined, otherwise that stuff in a can works well too.
Thanks for the suggestion! I started putting in some mousse while my hair is still wet after I shower, combats the frizzy hair problem I get after my hair drys and before it gets some of that natural grease
Matte wax with super strong hold is my go-to. Moisten hands first and then style how you want, doesnt clump much and can restyle it all day and it should hold like that. I just concrete it up with hairspray tho
Not sure if it will solve your problems or not, but Reuzel pomade / hair wax smells amazing.
