Ayyy its me again. Figured I'd make a new thread instead of just responding to my old one so that people are more likely to see and help me. Anyways, as the title of this thread says, I've managed to port an XNA LARA/XPS model to Blender, but now I'm confused on how I can port the model to Source Filmmaker. I've been mainly using this tutorial (https://www.kicodora.com/models/12-porting-from-blender-to-source-film-maker/) but I've gotten confused on some of the steps, and I'm wondering if anyone could help me out. Some things to consider: I am VERY VERY VERY new to this. I have not ported ANY models to ANY program at all, so this is a completely new learning experience. I have not/am not using Pte Jack's tutorials because I have no idea how to use Blender on my own w/o the guidance of step-by-step tutorials, and his tutorials assume that the user is experienced with using Blender (which I barely am). I'm not sure how I should even get used to Blender for porting models to Source anyway. This is the model I am trying to port: (https://jorn-k-nightmane.deviantart.com/art/Quatran-From-Bless-for-XPS-XNA-738190005) Basically I'm asking if there's any relatively easy to follow step-by-step tutorials like the one I linked above, or if any of you could help me out in general. Like I said I'm very new to this, and to be honest, I'm not even sure 100% on what to ask for help with this sort of thing, as this is a new experience for me in general.
Unfortunately new challenging skills like learning modelling software takes time, and there isn't going to be a perfect tutorial that always helps you. You're gonna have to get your hands dirty, get stuck a few times, and put up with being frustrated. That being said, no one can help you if you don't explain what you're stuck on.
Yeah Im aware of that, Im just a bit frustrated that I can't seem to find any tutorials that fit my needs hah. Also I can't believe I forgot to mention that bit in the original post ._. basically the bit I recall getting kind of stuck on was setting up VTF files. Though I'm going to try and give it a shot again using a different tutorial than the one I linked in the original post.
Sorry, you need to Log In to post a reply to this thread.
