https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/mbkae4/harvey-birdman-adult-swim-attorney-general-stephen-colbert-vgtrn "In his new role, it’s up to Harvey Birdman to find a way to remove President Phil Ken Sebben from office," Adult Swim wrote in a press release, "before everyone starts to worry it’s more than the ridiculous plot to an animated show." The upcoming half-hour special will be written by the show's creators, Erik Richter and Michael Ouweleen, and is set to bring back the full Harvey Birdman cast—including Gary Cole as Harvey and Stephen Colbert as Phil Ken Sebben, reprising his role from the original series.
yo that's awesome!!
I know right? I always loved this show when I very young Seem kinda out of nowhere when I think about though, but I'm not complaing
I only got into watching this a while ago and its increadibly difficult to find it anywhere, like outside of youtube there's no place with episodes to stream
Oh shit, I just started rewatching the whole series a couple days ago and was wondering why they didn't keep this show around for longer. I wonder how they're going to pull it off, just ignore that Harvey died at the end or have him survive somehow (probably a coma, it's always a coma).
Given the farceness of the original, maybe he's been stuck in the waiting room to see his divine-court-appointed lawyer in heaven for the court case over whether he goes to heaven or hell. His trial's finally got a set date but God's offering a deal that he'll let him go on community service if he'll take on one last case -- getting President Phil Ken Sebben out of office. Or something like that.
For real?! This is seriously my favorite show ever. The speed and pace of the humor and the blink-or-you'll-miss-it visual jokes are far and away at the pinnacle of my sense of humor. The clever jokes and self-awareness lent itself to a style of comedy that I have yet to find elsewhere. I hope its not too late in the fall when it returns.
I watched all of it for the first time last year, I think it's the most consistently funny show I've watched. There's always something funny happening, whether it's a pun, a situational gag, cutaway gags, quick background visual gag, repeating in-jokes, or a reference to old cartoons, often overlaying like 3 of these at the same time. It was really ahead of its time, the pacing and editing was almost like a high production Youtube Poop before Youtube even existed. I'm kind of surprised it only got 39 episodes.

To be honest I'm sure they're just going to ignore it. Harvey also still had an active unresolved clone double from the penultimate episode, Juror in Court, that they could use if they really wanted to have continuity. IMO the less time they spend explaining this the better, we only have a half hour for what could very well be the only new Harvey Birdman we ever get.

I don't think we ever saw what happened to juror birdman did we?
that preview image isn't promising. i would fucking hate it if this was just another thinly veiled "haha drumpf is bad xd" thing because honestly as much as an awful human being that man is, i am so sick of seeing him in media. i love Harvey Birdman so i hope its just a fun episode about nonsense as it was instead of some topical bullshit.

While I think Birdman is great and all, wake me up when they bring Xavier Renegade Angel back.
I remember first playing the video games since I was told it was "Ace Attorney on Wii but wackier" and it was pretty fun, so I looked into the series. Honestly it's one of my favorite cartoons out there, the pacing is great and it's always hilarious. I was so disapointed when I realised there were no more episodes, so hearing this news is great.
As much as I would love to see more Xavier, it's one of my favorite shows of all time, I kind of really doubt it'll get renewed for a new season. It was really risque and not very popular. That said, though, it is gaining a cult following as of late, so who knows?
I love how there's just a line stuck in the middle out of absolutely nowhere saying "Do you really want to feel him?", for absolutely no reason.
Oh I really doubt PFFR would come back to do a whole season, but I would love to see the style and such revisited. But you're right, the risque nature really hinders the series. I think the closest I've seen to the wild labyrinthine writing of X:RA recently was Tigtone, who may get picked up by AS after all. Though I don't think the pilot really has that same spark that the original video had.
I get the feeling that if Xavier were to come back right this second with nothing changed, a bunch of idiots would yell and bang pots about it being pro alt-right. If it does come back, I feel like it'd have to be in a slightly less spicy climate. https://youtu.be/x0iwfFoTwoQ?t=379
You can get part of Season 3 on Adult Swim, but that's it for now: Watch Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law from Adult Swim If I had to guess, thanks to this special, they'll put it all up after it's aired.
As long as Colbert reprises all his roles I'm absolutely pumped, I need more Reducto in my life.
