Yes because if you don't check this shit in advance, other people will, and that's going to look doubly bad for you. Believe it or not, when you associate with awful people, people are going to assume you're awful too. This might not mean much to the average person but when you're connected to the one of the most powerful political positions on earth then knowing who is who and has done what becomes extremely important.
As far as I'm aware, there is not a single human being on the planet that has not committed some sort of vice, bad remark or sin.
So what options are there?
Besides, Ivanka is the daughter of a head of state who was visiting a foreign country. Why would Israel settle for "just any" rabbi to go bless her? Wouldn't it be more appropriate for the Chief Rabbi to do so, regardless of past remarks?
Maybe Israel should consider not having a racist shitheel as their Chief Rabbi in the first place. That'd be a p good start.
