He's the one destined to bring balance to The Force.
Probably fairly lean, just like running doesn't make you buff, waving your arms around wildly doesn't make you buff, it does make you lose weight though I'm sure. Drummers aren't (always) particularly buff either.
Put on some wrist weights and this would be a punishing arm work out.
Notice how he lands 2725/2806 notes but still gets a C? Part of the scoring in this game is that you have to swing your saber 90 degrees before cutting a block and then swing your saber at least 60 more degrees after the cut. That makes up 100 of the 110 possible points you can get per block. (The other 10 is based on how close to the center of the block your cut is.) There's no way anyone can get an A on this song when they have 16th-note blocks coming at them at 200bpm. It's a shame.
the chosen one
It would also likely cause permanent damage to your joints. It's fine for some games, but for things where you're constantly flailing your arms around like this, it's not a good idea.
I bet drummers would be really fuckin good at this game.
at this point, i thinks its safe to assume he can deflect bullets.
As cool as that was (and damn son was that cool), I was kind of expecting guitar hero level amounts of things to hit, there were so many instances of not that much coming at him but the song being completely nuts, the whole idea of that song on a rythem/music game is thats its completely relentless but this felt a little, simple by comparison.
I suppose its made up for by the fact that you would be so god damn tired doing this you need those breaks.
I like it when it's impossible to get the actual top score though. Means that people will always be able to strive for a better result.
why am i tearing up
I thought it was pretty lame, honestly. Like, wow, all the notes, but they don't even really line up with the beats a lot of the time?
Because it's a custom song I think. I played it yesterday with the songs that are included in the game and the blocks felt really in sync with the beats.
Remember Ultra Trunks from DBZ?
The exact opposite of him.
that would only be true if they were using younglings instead of blocks
absolute unit
The two original tracks for this game I know - Legend and $100 bills- are both hype as fuck. I'm still looking forward to see the other originals.
Songs are imported. There is a massive custom song list already available for the game because modders made their own beatmap tools.
Beat Saver
I'm not a fan of a lot of these custom songs I'm seeing. A lot of them miss the point of the Saber part of Beat Saber and throw a shit ton of blocks at you with zero regard for the actual flowing motion of you swinging through blocks. Like, a lot of what this guy ends up having to do is waggle the saber through blocks because if he actually tries to cut anything he'll miss like 50 blocks in the space of a second. I don't see how that's any fun.
The modding community is mostly filled with people that have a lot of experience with Osu/DDR and want to make maps that they find challenging.
Issue is that these super hard maps are rarely good for the rest of the community who wishes for a more casual/relaxed experience.
Thankfully, the guy who made this song has put difficulty levels so that if you want the more traditional beat saber experience, just dial it back to hard or normal.
I can't even beat that song at all.
the only thing this song is good for is being stupid hard in rhythm games
Eh, I think for a song like TTFAF in a game like this, players are just gonna try to get a full combo and never touch it again. Shit's really exhausting.
Still waiting for a VR rhythm game that isn't just waggle based. I want the added component of button presses in the mix, something like if this game and DJ Hero had a baby.
Some of the stuff he was doing though, like after hitting 3 notes then looking off to the left or right, you know he was doing that as to look cool.
he is the last laser master
The issue with this is that if you add more complexity, it becomes very hard to actually go with the flow of the music.
A lot of these "waggle" seems really easy on video, but they sometimes require you to use you right hand to the left side and your left hand to the right, or actually move to position your arms aafter a big move.
It's a lot more hard than it seems to be, and not just because of the waggling.
I'm curious just what this actually looked like, as in the motions the player was actually going through in reality while this was all going on.
