I'm not entirely certain how would an arcade shooter where everybody is rocking laser guns and future tech weapons that can blow your head off from across the map would work in a BR setting but surely they've made it work as shown in the trai... oh.
Well they'll come up with something
what do you know, it looks like a blops 3 asset flip
probably because they scrapped everything they had 2 years in because activision got scared
3 years dev cycle and THIS is what gets shoved out
fucking sad.
I thought they said they weren't doing a campaign this time? Was that just a rumor?
there is no campaign.
at the most there might be flavor text in multiplayer that nobody is going to care about because, well it's multiplayer
get rekt
Christ
did anybody else spot the villian from BO2 during the battle royale trailer
yeah that's him
gotta make players receptive to the "no campaign asset flip" smell by coating it with things they know like Alex Mason
They said you can play random bo characters in the br mode
I'm very interested in seeing what they bring out for their BR mode, but there's a 0% chance of me buying the game unless it's phenomenal on release.
Yep, it's a Call of Duty game all right.
This is nowhere near silly enough for me. Where's my black hole gun?
They said there wouldn't be a campaign, didn't they? It looks more like a cinematic trailer for the multiplayer mode anyway.
Activision:How do we make more money and give people less game?
they axed the campaign
Activision barred Treyarch from going into a really different and strange campaign for BO3, and then when Treyarch built BO4 around reusing the old idea but Activision found out, they pretty much gave them the ultimatum of redoing the entire campaign into something else (which was unfeasible at that point in time) or getting rid of it entirely.
Well the developers are calling it a """story""""" mode, but I dunno if that's just in-game text lore or something else.
With the whole specialists thing returning and the way the "cinematic trailer" portrays itself, I wouldn't be surprised if they're going for an Overwatch kind of thing. Implied character and background lore, multiplayer-focused game.
Quite frankly, fuck the specialist system, and none of these characters even remotely look remarkable enough to give a shit about in the first place.
You forgot the zombie trailer
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ffvg7cR68-Q
maybe i'll pick it up when the price drops
so probably like 5 years from now
One thing I am not sure about is how they will handle guns. Will it be hitscan? Because I think that would be quite bad.
Why does it look like such a clusterfuck?
that tends to happen when you have to restart development in the last year of your 3 year dev cycle.
What?
I'll probably just stick with IW. It's actually a ton of fun and is full of goofy future shit like the aforementioned black hole gun.
Guys don;t forget, now its not just a 'beta' or a 'pre order beta' or a 'closed beta' but this time, its a ~PRIVATE beta~
What the fuck is that even mean't to mean?
Wait why did they have to restart development?
Zombies looks decent, but the rest looks like it's trying too hard; like the bastard child of CoD and Fortnite.
Rumor has it that Activision didn't like the direction they were taking the game, so they've reworked a bunch of stuff this year and can't get the campaign out in time for launch.
It's hard to tell the gameplay changes from just the trailers so I watched the event.
Black Ops 3 had the most fluid movement system in a FPS I've played.
And then this is how they introduce Black Ops 4's movement:
>"Let's get something out of the way. Can you thrust-jump? NO. Can you wallrun? NO."
>Crowd cheers and claps
Fuck that made me mad.
On top of that they're keeping the worse part of Black Ops 3: the classes' Overwatch-like abilities, and adding predictable recoil patterns.
Isn't CoD supposed to be fast-paced arcadey fun? Adding movement options seemed like the natural evolution of that. I was hoping for the next step in that direction.
Recoil patterns, coop-focused abilities, manual healing, fog-of-war minimap are the opposite of that. Everything points to them aiming for a more serious tactical team-based eSport approach. Like they took a page of CS:GO's, Overwatch's and R6 Siege's design docs and are making something that falls along those lines.
I'm not completely against that, it could actually work, I just wasn't expecting that turn.
4x the black cocks
4x the gay
4x the fun
