Are there any other sites to sell my script in ? - Developers

Recently I went here to sell my addon for a customizable maglev train: Home · gmodstore They told me that my addon was well coded, but it was too specific to be sold there. I am wandering are there any other sites that I can earn money by coding GLua and where I can sell my personal addon ?

not unless you want to deal with people who specialize in advertising leak sites

even if there would be a side for that, no one would use it since no one knows it. Gmodstore is the only REAL thing to get actual addons, without backdoors etc and any risks. And to make money as coder

Why are they not bother to sell stuff then with the argument "It is too specific." Isn't that what's to be REAL all about .. I mean if most of the people want to pay for weapon packs and dupes, that's ok with me. But wen you have actual working thing that you can customize yourself that would be specific Don't get me wrong, but cars for example are super specific and even your motherboard in your PC and they sell as warm bread as everyone wants the best thing for the money. To me "Your script is too specific" is not an argument to be considered when not approved, but rather a lame excuse.

eh, gmodstore is weird...i submitted my HUD (let me explain) It could detect what gamemode you play on, then load that version for that. it had a sandbox version, a TTT version, a DarkRP version one specific for hungermod and without hungermod. It can show ammo, health, armor, pretty much everything you need to know and can know, it disabled the DarkRP default hud by itself so owners dont have to change these settings. And much more. Their denied reason was "Too Simple"

I remember this script, it was pretty well made but I remember everyone I talked to about it being really confused as to why you were selling it on gmodstore. I personally didn't deny it but I can sort of see why it was denied for being too specific. In my opinion it'd work better on workshop- selling it on gmodstore would get you little to no people using it based on the types of users that are there.

Well isn't it for me to decide that when I don't care how many people will gonna use it eventually. The control theory is not for everyone, though, the people that use it will definitely be able to appreciate the effort I've put there. My goal personally was for the people who know what they are doing to use it. So the user cannot be tied up to using only hoverballs. What if we need a dedicated controller on the Z axis.. Well, we can put an E2 to control the hoverball Z position... That's good... That's good. But what if we need to control all three axises and our angle is to be changing in a user defined way .... The script looks like it would only be useful on a build server and not a darkrp server which is where the majority of sales are. I think you would struggle to sell it if it was accepted on gmodstore. The best you could hope for is to put it on the workshop and ask for donations or something.

Well.. I did say this does not matter to me .. I do not care if I mace 3 or 5 ot 15 sales ... As long as I do not give it for free. I've put much time in this addon and posting it in the workshop will result in this time all time just wasted.

I'm gonna catch so much flak for this, I know, but why do you have to release it for money? You say you've put so much work into it, so you won't release it for free. Why not? I hate to make comparisons as my defense, but look at WAC, Wiremod, SCars, Drones, wOS animations, and everything else just like that on the workshop. Those all are incredible (albeit old and imperfect) works made by people who just wanted to share their creations with people because they're proud and want to share it with everyone. Just be proud of your work and release it, because it seems like it's not going to get approved.

Hmm, aren't you gonna git e it a chance at least ? Imagine it like this ... You go to the university to have a degree, but they tell you that you are too short/tall to graduate ... Seems like the same thing. Denying the graduation based on demographic leading to every short/tall person not having a degree..

What? A person doesn't have control over their height so its never a factor, but the content of the creation they're trying to sell is. You chose to make an addon that will only ever be used for people in sandbox who want to make Maglev trains when Gmodstore is a market for garrysmod scripts geared towards server owners, not sandbox players.

Well Well, now this is interesting, please tell me what scripts are sutable for selling then. Give me some examples.

Yes, that's correct ... The server must be called DarkRP store as it triggers demographic like that. Calling it "Gmod" store will affect users like me, who code for sandbox and assuming that the site expects "gmod" stuff in general rather than DarkRP stuff. I think it must be renamed to the specific demographic interaction like "darkrpstore.com" as it contains mainly the things related to DarkRP above. When I got thinking about it If I code a server manager of some sort. would it be accepted if it is related to DarkRP ? This other site seems like a fair choice "crident.store uses an invalid security certificate." But invalide security serificate OMG

How about instead of whining about it, explain why your script should be accepted?

No. They likely want to restrict what appears on their platform to prevent the over all quality from dropping. If they approved every random low-effort mods then many users of the site would find less value in it as they now have to trudge through a bunch of crappy mods as if they were digging through the workshop.
