ah, the star wars writers also attended the JK Rowling School of LGBT Representation I see
Makes sense tbh, also makes sense that they wouldn't spell it out in the movie. Don't really see the outrage here
I'm pretty sure these words just trigger people. I think it makes total sense.
Yeah, as far as I remember, there wasn't really anything in the previous movies that would indicate Lando being specifically hetero, so it's not like having him be pan is going to fuck with the lore by even a small amount (save for maybe the Expanded Universe, which is basically nullified by this point anyway, so what does it matter).
Personally don't think it should be considered that much of a problem.
What outrage????
All my fanfic of him and Han having a bromance is now ruined! Ruined!!!
I find Pansexuality weird. Isn't it the same as bisexuality, eg the ability to love someone irregardless of their gender?
pansexual is the oppisite of asexual
From my understanding of it, it seems like pansexuality includes non-binary people.
I mean he always seemed like a bit of a swinger.
as someone who identifies as pansexual, I've always seen it as attraction regardless of gender; insofar as i get attracted to people's personalities first, and I don't even consider their gender/sex when it comes to attraction
the words and their definitions are constantly evolving though, and there's a lot of conflicting opinions on the differences since the lines have gotten muddled to the point where bisexuality is no longer really defined as attraction to the two binary genders (male, female) as that's seen as transphobic, which in turn sets a lot of people's eyes on pansexuality being transphobic as well since there's a misconception that pansexuality makes explicit language for trans people (it doesn't) being included, and that's also seen as bi erasure due to the updated definition of bisexual
like i said, constantly evolving so there's always debates because a handful of people in a given number have a different idea about what it means
Imagine there are two gamers switching around between two game genres they're playing, lets say shooters and mobas.
The bi person might say they flip flop because they just love both genres so much. A pan person might say they just like games and it's really all the same. Same result, different mindset.
I just don't personally see why pansexuality has to be differentiated when bisexuality, in my eyes, has always meant what people say pansexuality means.
In the context of Star Wars Pansexual probably also means Lando would bang hot aliens given the opportunity
um, asexual just means someone who has no sexual feelings, the opposite of that is literally just "sexual"
copying wikipedia doesn't really answer my question; although I'm on the boat that feels like there are only two genders which is really contrarian to what New York feels
I'm so fucking outraged that you don't see the outrage.
correct me if i'm wrong but bisexuals can prefer one gender over another but still have sex with both genders while pansexuals don't have a preference at all
as can people who identify as pansexual because the human brain just naturally has biases that can change over time.
As said it's like bisexuality but doesn't semantically exclude nonbinary people. What is unclear?
Yeah. Like, the most I can say is I'm just confused why this even needed to be said or who wanted to know? Like Lando always seemed like the type who would stick his dick in anything so long as it could say yes. I'm just not sure why this would be brought up is all.
He wears a cape with full flared collar larger than his head.
No one is surprised.
Yeah basically. Like I'm pansexual but at the same time I'm well aware I have a lean towards people with a dick cause that's my thing. Guy, girl, whatever else, not really a factor. And even then that is just a lean, not a requirement. Some people are pansexual but have a lean towards people who are feminine, or lean towards males, or whatever.
There's not much to be outraged about. Lando being pansexual does not, as far as we know (in Solo, that is), impact the story at all. But in the same vein, why does he have to be pansexual if
it isn't even going to be brought up.
I can't belive YTMND lied to me: http://dumbledoorisgay.ytmnd.com/
TBH I used to consider pansexuality a joke. But not really anymore, bisexuality usually means two or more, but is sex-exclusive to an extent. I find women, dudes, and MTFs attractive, but not really FTMs, so I gotta say bisexual (though there being no precise thing irritates me.)
But if you have no hangups whatsoever, then that's where the pan-sexual label comes in.
basically bi is like "i like female and male"
pan is "i like male/female and non-binary"
I get what you mean, but it's a good thing to reassure those who feel underrepresented in media that an iconic and beloved character is one of their own. Some might call it pandering but it doesn't really affect the rest of us at all so I say it's a good move.
I'm struggling to understand this, as the normie that I am.
You kinda have to ask someone what they identify as before you can know that they are non-binary, so then your response could be "Well I'm Pansexual so I actually have the potential to find you attractive (for whatever reason).
Seems odd.
