https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CB3LJdMYzrQ Didn't expect this to go the way it did. Interesting little meta piece.
Man, I wouldn't have thought about it - but makes me feel bad for the town. I'm very pleased with the way Tom Scott approached the video.
It's nice to see his sympathy and down to earth. Unlike the bourgeoisie who need to make a joke about everything and have a laugh track machine with them at all times.
Tom can age 30 years in an instant. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107208/d18a39bd-a92e-4997-b741-de4171f57d66/image.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107208/bffcae36-105e-4afa-ba00-6a22315e3591/image.png
The poor man hasn't been the same since the centrifuge incident https://i.imgur.com/z5plYzA.png
They shut down the industry? Canadian cowards https://i.imgur.com/VaOutKF.jpg https://youtu.be/cy3piCUPIkc
I really hope that @6:02 the name they used was faked.
considering they made abestos snow for kids to throw at each other, its not surprising: https://us-east-1.tchyn.io/snopes-production/uploads/2017/12/a-2.jpg When i worked at a donation center, someone donated a box of this shit and immediately i treated it like nuclear waste and washed my hands and arms raw.
were they old as fuck or something
it was a box from the 50s~ it was hard to read the front, but that was the exact packaging. Crazy how people just played with the shit for fun.
I used to climb garage roofs made of asbestos in my neighbourhood for fun as a kid. That was 15 years ago. Worries me now but its minimal exposure I think
Top one has very soft front facing lighting. Bottom has slightly harsher lighting from the top, basically a reverse "put the flashlight under your chin to look scary" effect.
I appreciate his nuanced approach to the subject, but I'm from the province and I think it's totally fair to make fun of that town's name so I think he worries too much about being seen like a jerk.
I've removed asbestos in past, no respirator or anything. It isnt so bad when it is removed, whole problems arise when its removed carelessly and the dust gets in the air. I know it is dangerous but at least in finland it is being treated like it is a plague within walls or something.
Most of the roofs where I work are made of asbestos because I work in a pyrotechnic factory, it's safe unless it's disturbed
