https://i.imgur.com/dP7GOQW.png So it is some time around WW2'ish ? I don't know if the googles are good enough indicator. Clothing doesn't say much to me.
Well the flags at the top are the Union Jack and Iron Cross, so it's either WW1 again, or WW2.
*bzzzt* ENEMY BOAT SPOTTED *bzzzt* Thanks champ.

It's a pineapple grenade at the lower right corner, dude is wearing urban camo, iron cross used at top its ww2
Since it seems like it's WW2, then that just means I'm gonna save 60$.
Can't tell if meant to be a saving private ryan reference or not but I suppose that would make sense all things considered.
Are you actually complaining about getting a WW2 game? I'm pretty excited, tbh.
Battlefield hasn’t had a WWII game in well over a decade. I’m excited
I managed to avoid BF1 because I didn't have a lot of free time after release, and I'm sort of glad I never bought it as I'd have much rather preferred something a little more realistic than the borderline Harry Turtledove shit we ended up with. I sort of hope V is more grounded, but even if they do go '42 Secret Weapon jetpacks and Ho-229 levels of apeshit I'd probably be alright with it.
I mean I'm not in to it. I stopped being in to World War 2 games a long time ago and didn't get back in to it. It just stopped being interesting after so many games during that time period alongside the many movies, tv shows, web series, books, and everything. At a certain point I've heard or seen it all. So unless we end up with a significantly alt-history version with diesel punks mechs and carrier airships and such, I just don't care. Like if this is a Wolfenstein esque World War 2, then sure, I might be in for it.
This is straight up false so I would really wish people would atop parroting it.
We've had more modern warfare and future warfare games than we've had WW2 games. I'm getting really sick of "Modern Warfare game #2489127480214371" for every single thing that comes out.
Sure, generic Modern Warfare games are boring as well but you can at least create fake conflicts in fake parts of the world with fake shit and tell interesting stories there. World War 2 doesn't give that unless you go alt-history. Which would make it interesting again because its not just World War 2. Also we have definitely not had more futuristic games than World War 2 games.
I don't understand why people want another modern shooter. Battlefield has multiple modern shooters in succession and they still have aged well. I swear all I could see people bitching about it in YouTube comments 2-3 years ago was that they wanted to go to WW2 but since COD came to it first and did a terrible job, now WW2 is untouchable.
I mentioned that when they announced battlefield 1 iirc. Like why limit the battlefield style of gameplay to real world occurrences, you have unlimited material when you make it about something that isn't real. (and scifi is fucking cool yo) People loves 2142 so its literally a "flip the switch to make $" deal
I can't be the only one who is kinda creeped out by the teaser.
Hyperbole? Sure. Straight up false? Eh, I'll remember that next time I watch somebody fire a man portable rocket gun at a Char 2C.
Not a huge fan of how BF1 did its campaign but at least it tried to go to different locations Western Front's been beat to death so if that's the main focus then I'm gonna pass
At least its not called Vattlefield.
I don't have the right to complain or dislike it being WW2? I lost interest in WW2 games a long time ago. I've played the older Medal of Honor,Call of Duty,Brothers in Armys,Battle Stations,Red Orch, so forth. Sure not all of them feature the exploits of the French Underground but what are you really building upon? "Hey look we're using Shermans and Panzers again." "We gave a katana to the Japanese Faction." "Time for P51s,Spitfires and Zeros to make a comeback." I was bored of WW2 for a long while, I'm in the boat of another 2142 because they actually have massive amounts of room to make something interesting. Right now they have a setting they made that was fairly interesting, one of the most memorable battlefield gamemodes and more variety on the vehicles seeing as they introduced shit like active protection, pod launchers, one side using more maneuverable, technologically advanced but weaker hover tanks, speeders, plasma based weapons and walkers. While the otherside utilized more older technologies such as tracked vehicles, ballistics and rockets that had harder punches. Right now they have so much more room to grow in that respect than pumping out a generic WW2 story. Battlefield 4 had hints of in a friggen expansion that included weapons, picks up, vehicles, and maps. Safe to say I'm pretty disappointed in us getting another WW2 game.
The only thing guarding you and his creepy fingers is your screen. Seriously, I need an adult after watching this. It really looks like he's about to molest you.
Honestly excited as a WW2 game on modern Frostbite is long overdue. My hopes for gameplay is that they try to improve teamplay beyond the tactical squad level. BF1 did a nice job with class balance with their range limitations which gave each class a distinct combat role according to range, but did very little to try and improve squad-to-squad teamplay with squad leaders basically being free EXP boosters and glorified whistle carriers. Better VOIP/communications, a commander that can issue orders to squads and generally just better interaction between different groups of squads to make coordinated moves larger than a single squad level much easier and smoother to execute is what I want to see in BFV. Sounds optimistic as fuck, but the only thing that's causing frustration for me in BF games these days is how much of total clueless brainlets the average pubs are and how they need blatant orders to do something right.
I swill have a massive WW2 fatigue from over 10 years ago. Same thing happened with Zombies a few years ago, I don't know if I'll ever care about these settings again. I know people hate scifi settings now, but 2142's Titan mode was by far the most fun I've ever had in a battlefield game and it looks like it's never ever coming back in any form.
Personally, I think WW2 is coming at the perfect time and we can expect a modern, cold war, or future shooter as the next installment. Getting to experience WW2 in a completely new engine + operations is a super exciting prospect.
I want BF1942 style submarines that can take out an enemy destroyer
im gonna call it Vattlefield from now on
I'm a thousand times happier about it though that us Brits are in it
