The south as always, being absolutely correct.
It is DINNER.
It's always been divided. I moved from oxford to near manchester when I was young. Dinner vs lunch has been a major conflict in my life for over 20 years.
Is it FUCK
I had scones for my dinner last night, does anyone want to see a gif of it?
The best solution is to just generalise all meals with the same word. Eg here you wouldn’t say ‘let’s have lunch’ nor ‘let’s have dinner’, it would be ‘oi let’s have a fuckin feed’
My Gran still calls it supper.
What about supper
If the afternoon meal is dinner, then why do schools have dinner ladies eh?
You've just been put on a list
We had lunch ladies.
They're called education centre nourishment consultants you fuck
I use both, interchangeably..
As a consequence of this confusion, I have decided to boycott meals until further notice.
Lunch has to be called lunch regardless, anything else is wrong.
Not calling them FOOD FEMALES
How dare you.
Calling dinner "tea" sounds just as bad as people in the southern US calling every fizzy beverage "Coke"
"What are we having for tea?"
"Lasagna"
🤔
I call it Meal 6.
time to eat
The obvious compromise word is "scran"
i'm in manchester and i say dinner because my mum's from somerset
Here's another important question how do you pronounce scone?
moved from scotland to england, the urge to ask "fits fer tea" is overwhelming
my current strategy is to avoid the situation all together by saying "what we eatin'"
And I thought calling dinner 'supper' was weird.
Isn't supper later on? Like when you have tea and crumpets before bed
Supper is an optional fourth meal before bed
my mind is fucked when people say Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Supper
it should be Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner, there is no fourth time to eat (no wonder brits have obesity problems /s)
We say tea in Wales too. What about Scotland?
You pronounce scone as scone duh
May be a bit controversial but I pronounce it as scone
