Israel says it is the first country to use U.S. (Reuters) - Israel is the first country to have used the U.S.-made F-35 stealth fighter in combat, the Israeli air force chief said on Tuesday in remarks carried by the military's official Twitter account.
How much do you want to bet at least one of them was against Palestine?
Given that they say 'twice on two different fronts', and the two fronts Israel is engaged in are Palestine and Syria, I think betting against it would be pretty damn stupid.
I suppose American fighter jets getting their first combat experience through Israelis attacking Syrians is tradition at this point The first kill by an F-15 was scored by Israeli Air Force (IAF) ace Moshe Melnik in 1979 against a Syrian MiG-21 and the first F-16 kills were also scored by IAF pilots against a Syrian Mi-8 and another MiG-21 in 1981.
In a lot of ways Israel is a proxy for us. They can use our equipment against actual nations. Syria is using quite a bit of modern tech from Russia. I'm sure if israel ever uses an F35 against an SAA T-90 you can bet we're going to analyze that strike and learn from it and make it even better.
Israel says it has carried out scores of strikes in Syria against suspected Iranian emplacements or arms transfers to Hezbollah guerrillas in neighboring Lebanon. Its air forces is also widely believed to have operated over against Islamist militants in the Egyptian Sinai and Hamas arms smugglers in Sudan. literally says it in the article, no point in using a fancy f 35 fighter for precision bombing strikes in Gaza
Is anyone surprised that Israel gets to use American built F-35's in combat before America does
