A idea taken from most modded servers, skill modifiers proportional to the amount of activity already undertaken, harvesting especially. As in 130% in mining after having harvested about 200 nodes. And so on und so weiter. Might be interesting to have late wipe when you need to beef up your defences, aka more upkeep. Might be interesting also for the wipeless rust (part of the solution, anyway). The percentage might mean harvest more from the same node or harvest faster, it might be per wipe or permanent, a small reminder of previous grind. It just needs to be small enough not to upset the equilibrium in game. P:S. Speaking of good ideas already implemented on MODDED servers, how about STR, DEX, HP, INT attributes for vanilla rust?
I doubt if FP will "mod" the official servers with some kind of "levels" for gathering and or crafting
