My ban happened 17 days ago. Didn't care at first because the game was making me angry. Decided to post it now because I want to get back in to Rust and remembered I was banned.
First of all: I WAS NOT HACKING.
What could have gotten me banned: I was using H1Z1 cheats at the time (yes, I'm guilty, and I don't care if I get banned from that dead game). I closed out of H1Z1 but still had the hacks running. They only worked for H1Z1, and didn't give me any advantage in Rust AT ALL. Played for a good few hours or so on my favorite server, no issues. Logged on the next day and I'm banned.
