I mean, what's the context behind these things? are they just there for decoration?

ohh those are cool wonder if you could harvest them later and put them in the fridge to keep your food cool
That would be cool.
ice cold
I don't know what point you're trying to make but it's completely and totally incomprehensible
Ice age coming to rust?
Wtf, I've never met these
Pretty sure for now they're just a rare spawn of decoration pieces
All over savas map
Pre-tuna lamp days, I used to like building a base with one of those barely sticking through the floor for light! Hapis Island map had them too.
When experimental was in the very early stages and the devs were working on the "look" of stone, ore, sulfur nodes they used to have crystals similiar to those scattered all over the map, could just be a "page holder" , just my guess
I'm really not trying to be rude, but do these things look like ice to you?
No one said that it was a good representation of ice.
Ice would never naturally form like that, that's still what its representing. Like... it's kind of obvious too

They're fun to build around. Free light at all times! They just make a small humming noise.
It's pretty cool, in fact i have a base including these crystals.
No They Are Art
If you build around it, you can have a fridge with actual cooling particles & sounds.
All for that spicy roleplaying my dude
