on the one hand, lying like this should be an offence. but on the other hand it'll make people scared to come forward about things like this... what a bitch
This has got to be one of the shittiest most pathetic entitled things a person can do. First you drive under the influence, then when you're fortunate enough to have that story end with a DUI rather than a vehicular manslaughter, you try to get out of it by ruining an innocent police officer's life. And in the process of failing, you insult and discredit real victims of sexual assault and police brutality everywhere. I hope she's prosecuted and sees jail time. Credit to her lawyer for dropping her lying ass and apologising.
If there's hard evidence that someone falsely accused another person, then there needs to be consequences.
Just goes to show that body cams can be as important to the officer as it is to the suspect. Glad the truth could come out.
Why, if there is hard evidence that someone lied in order to ruin somebody's life, should they not face consequences? If you're not a lying cunt, you have no reason not to come forward if you're a real victim, but if you are a lying cunt who's just trying to ruin somebody's life, then frankly you should get the same amount of prison time they were going to get.
Where does this argument even come from. If you didn't fabricate an incident what do you have to be afraid of?
This post is actually pretty correct, she will be justly punished but unfortunately it will probably discourage others that are not lying just due to how our society is right now.
Give her the fucking chair. This isn't something to take lightly. If she managed to pull that off his life was pretty much over at that point.
👀
Obviously a chair in court because she might be sued.
Because life isn't easy.
Evidence is hard to get and a lot of victims of stuff like sexual-assault rely on time-sensitive evidence and testimonies which easily get muddled.
You could go forward with a legitimate claim of getting sexually assaulted but your case would get thrown out due to lack of evidence.
This gets ridiculously complicated when you add the fact that the accused has the ability to accuse the victim of lying.
Obviously not serious about her needing the death-sentence. Tho I do stand by her needing a proper harsh sentence.
Body cameras are a really, really good idea.
If it can be proved that the accuser is making shit up then they should be punished harshly. Given the social fallout (loss of job, family/friends, etc.) that does occur when someone is accused of sexual assault then they should be brought up on defamation charges. Falsly accusing someone is no joke when it can ruin someone life.
As long as the evidence isn't conveniently lost.
Sure, but you don't get charged with anything for your case being thrown out due to insufficient evidence.
exactly what body cameras are for and why officers should not want to turn them off when they feel like it.
Sexual assault is already one of the least reported crimes, and fear of consequences (whether from people close to them, society at large, or the justice system itself) is one of the major reasons for not coming forward. Telling victims that they may be harshly punished if their claims turn out to be false is a really bad idea.
Fucking whore, cases like this makes my blood boil, bitch should be heavily fined.
I wonder how many people have been or are jailed falsely because of hoes like this one.
deleted her facebook profile too, coward
I don't get it. There's a very big gap between "lack of evidence to prove truth" and "evidence proving you falsified on purpose." If the case falls through then there's social fallout, sure, but i just can't fathom being afraid of legal trouble if you were being genuine.
Like ferrus said, if you're not literally on tape incriminating yourself (or an equivalent thereof), there's nothing to fear.
When there is strong evidence that someone has made a false accusation then they should not be allowed to get off scot-free, It's completely unjust. There has to be consequences for your actions otherwise you are inviting people to abuse the system. I find it completely disgusting to suggest that victims of false accusations should be thrown under the bus for the greater good.
