I long for the days when That Cat was bannable and you could go out in style
Why?

I'd just post it anyways.
Big old 4k fucker too.
What reason to give up for?
I might be partially responsible.
Blackavar took our in-thread debate to Steam messages for whatever reason. It stayed civil as far as I can tell, but apparently he just got tired of arguing about TF2 balance with people in general, because he removed me on Steam without a word and just a few minutes later made this thread and got perma'd. Seems like a pretty dramatic overreaction to me, but hey, whatever I guess.
He's probably off playing Path of Exile or something now. Wish him godspeed on his journey.
like 80% of the forum drama in the past few days is TF2 related
god damn guys get it together the game's 11 years old
Furthermore it's pretty evident that tf2 will never be balanced or optimized lmao
Blackavar added me after this, gonna update with some relevant snippets.

And our last conversation, I guess.

Thus ends the tale of Blackavar on Facepunch. May he sail onward to greener pastures, or some shit like that.
Most of the actual 'drama' that happens on the forum is TF2 drama and nothing else. Every other section is basically chill. Even when a big forum update hits it usually just goes away after a day.
It's embarrassing, how does this game create so much drama lmao
TF2 was a mistake. Also all MOBAs. If only for their disgusting communities and absolutely sour, pointless drama.
What TF2 drama? That was a slightly heated debate about the Direct Hit, only drama that really comes to mind was pretty long ago when MUS and GC were merged, and a smaller part of the site-wide drama
about the subforum change.
The only other TF2 related drama I've seen is the one where ASIC continues to be useless at arguing and keeps chatting in his thread to troll people in debates by pretending he actually has any, but other than that haven't really seen much.
Team Fortress 2 is serious business.
But what would i know, i haven't played it since launch.
Why Blackavar? I genuinely enjoyed your presence in this community...
Black"Nerf [x] because I can't counter it"avar
Overdramatic. It's just a forum. No point in being harsh on himself in those steam conversations, his opinion is just as relevant as anybody else's. People have said a lot of stupid shit in the TF2 forums. It's not a perfect place of discussion, but I'd rather it in its current state over a dead forum with a post once a day max.
People in the TF2 subforum react in a volatile manner to those who disagree with them. I remember a flamewar about heavy's JJBA hat.
I give it ten days before he reinstalls.
It's one of those classic ban me threads.
"Hey please ban me for 2 weeks, I am taking a holiday for 2 weeks."
I remember those people.
was it about random crits though
I'll be on a holiday for a month so here have my account

There's an entire thread dedicated to you being awful at arguments while people (stupidly) reply to you, even though you ask the same "okay but why though" question every post.
You also frequently bump topics that are weeks or months old to reply to comments, some of which weren't even referring to you. Hell, sometimes you'll reply to your own weeks-old comment.
You're definitely in no position to speak about the TF2 forum, and if anything you're the posterchild for the "poor attitude" users people are going on about in this thread.
(I'm going to assume that you are talking about the random crit thread.)
That is false. I don't ask "why?" every post.
I once posted after a week in the random crit thread, but that was only once and it was because I was not on facepunch for about a week.
Now, why can't you guys prove a damn thing you say? All of you act so sure about yourselves.
Shall we play a little "Toxx clause" game? Since it looks like at least 8 other people agree with you, I shall wonder if they would like to play as well. Why don't you tell some people from the TF2 thread as well?
Entries close in 24 hours from now. If you or anyone else wants to join the game they should say so in a response to this post, before that time has passed.
Here is the game:
Every one except me is on your team.
If your team wins, I will get a permaban. The escape clause is that I have to give out 20 TF2 keys to every player on your team. If I win, then everyone on your team gets permabanned. The escape clause for anyone on your team is that they each must give me 20 keys to be unbanned.
This is the random crit thread: https://forum.facepunch.com/f/tf2/bsnnb/TF2-Random-Critical-Hits-A-Fair-and-Balanced-Discussion/
Your team has to find a post in that thread (from before I made this challenge).
The post has to meet at least one of these two conditions:
The first condition is that the post is one where I respond to the thread after no one has posted in that thread for a month (31 days).
The second, alternate, condition is I made that post after no one has posted in that thread for a week (7 days) and in that post I only responded to another one of my posts.
Your team only needs to find one post (at least) for their entire team to win.
However, for me to win, I must:
Go through the entire random crit thread and prove that no post from that time period meets either of those two requirements.
Ok lol for real, lets be straight
I've not been liked in sections before, and I've seen hundreds of people who weren't liked either in a section. Most of the time it's just the person not getting the point at all.
From the very little I've seen of you I can tell you're not liked in the TF2 section. Maybe it's just that the TF2 section aren't cool like you, maybe it's you, I don't know.
All this giant post shows me is that you don't listen to what anyone has to say and nag people incessantly. It only makes you sound like a giant idiot and I already don't like you without even posting in the TF2 section.
If you need to JUSTIFY why people should like you, you've already 100% fucked up and are in the wrong.
The irony here is that your entire post is an "Ok, but why though"
All of you are just jelaous because the TF2 section is still passionate about the game, while the rest of you are just dead inside
On a more serious note, people in the TF2 section actually seem pretty chilll, I havent even played the game in 5 years and Ive been browsing the threads regularly for all this time because I just like seeing people argue about the game. I just guess that when the do go nuclear, they go all the way.
Some people don't like me because I have an unpopular opinion. It's fine if they don't all share the same opinions as me. They don't have to like me, but they don't have to spend a large amount of time hurling shit either.
The thing about listening to people is that there is a difference between listening and believing. You can not blindly believe everything that you are told, sometimes you need to sanity check what someone is saying.
So like with that random crit thread. They accuse me of a bunch of things. I am willing to hear them out, but they are not really willing to speak. And the strange way they act doesn't give me any assurance to the truth of what they say.
Basically what happens is this. Someone says "ASIC did this bad thing", so I ask them to provide evidence. They refuse basically every time. Some of these guys are willing to spend more than 70% of their posts in that thread accusing me of stuff or insulting/mocking me, but they still refuse to provide evidence. Keep in mind that all of my posts are recorded, so it's not like they can't find that stuff if it actually existed.
I made a few posts explaining that it's not sane to believe accusations against you, especially without evidence or when the other person is insulting you. They just seemed to ignore it.
Not really. Like in that 3rd quote of yours, there is a difference between asking "why?" and saying "I don't know why, but here is my guess"
Can we get a new image that results in permabans
Goodbye, hope you learn how to play against Pyro sometime.
