ICE has been going on since 2003 so it's not a Trump thing, rather it's a result of what considering immigrants to be invaders does.

Trump and his entire administration are a unique abomination to humanity, but let's not forget that inhumane treatment of migrants predates the Trump presidency. If we think that simply impeaching Trump or voting out congressional Republicans will somehow fix this, we're wrong. It's going to take a massive political movement.

In all honesty, I want these kids to be tracked so their welfare can be confirmed on a reasonably regular basis -- say, six months.
However, I don't want the Trump administration to be tracking them because their welfare is not the first priority when they could be used as pawns to make Democrats bend over in Congress.
So, on the balance, let them escape 'the system', they're probably better off that way for the time being.
