Yeah guess what people are smart enough to know that abortion doesn't mean RAMPANT BABY GENOCIDE and no matter what you think of it women should always have the ability to choose.
Hell yes, the quest to exterminate all babies is going forth as planned!
Begin the baby genocide to summon our lord satan obama.
Check another country more socially developed than America.
Now that's the power of yes

Here's a take on why no lost. Give it a read and I'm gonna spoiler tag what I think underneath

This is a great example of the fallacy of giving equal representation to both sides no matter the circumstances. Polls suggest that the Irish public heavily favoured Yes from the start, and they seem to have carried that through to a landslide vote for Yes. That being the case, the fact that politicians and media commentators heavily leaned towards Yes just means they matched the mood of the public. It might seem to make sense that there should be equal representation of Yes and No views in politics and the media, but really it doesn't. You could hold a referendum on whether the moon is made of cheese, but that doesn't mean you should suddenly start taking seriously and giving equal airtime to the moon cheese truthers. Of course broadcasters should be expected to stay neutral but this article's talking about the press and politicians in particular. I do agree with the writer in disliking all-too-common Yes/No referendum questions.
This article is just ridiculous, immediately claiming in the header, that it's "illiberal" that Yes had an edge in public opinion. There's nothing stopping you from not having an abortion just how equal marriage doesn't mean you get a state mandated gay spouse. Media bias and overrepresentation is a real thing but it's also relative from a given country's socio-political context.
The final solution would be just banning the media from talking about anything political and hand out bi-annual primers on politics so the people can really decide for real what they want but then you'd have the question of what organization would be privileged enough to manage such a thing without becoming a politically motivated entity in itself, not to mention who isn't just gonna not read the thing and vote whatever friends and family are voting.
Yes won by a considerable margin, if it had been like within a 5% margin of error, I would've given them the benefit of the doubt. But you don't get to put up billboards lamenting how a billion super happy babies get aborted every day by gunshot to the head and then cry about having your bullshit underrepresented. It's not like they really believe in "pro choice", the only choice they really want is for you to become another yes-man and to support taking choices, that are against the party line, away from other people.
Great news. Now the North just needs sorted and everyone in the UK and Ireland will have access to abortion.
