Hey there, my name is batmanhey atleast thats my ingame name. I just started a rust server and I need help getting the server pop up I have tried server ranking sites and I just can't seem to get past a 1-5 player count please help!!
Congratulations! You are now in the "I have a server and no one plays" club. Many servers have the very same issue. Unless you offer something different and cool you wont get your pop up. It would help if you listed your server name here and I could go check it out, But at the end of the day if you are running vanilla and no oxide perks its going to be a hard slog.
if you want to get frustrated try Pallys Rustoxide PVP server, thought i would give it a try (yesterday) and it restarts every 35-55 minutes, so annoying when you are hunting or being hunted and it stops, wait 5 minutes , load up and start harvesting and stop again, and again and again. Thought it might be a glitch but same today. And it doesnt matter actually how many plugins you have , the server i normallly play on has a lot and still get the "butterflies" , They either log on and then log off 2 minutes later or they log on stay for a few hours, sometimes a day or so and they leave again, some say "wow this is great here" and they still go, too many servers to choose from. Just try to keep your uptime as long as possible and make changes (restarts) as few as possible,
I feel your pain OP, I'm having the same issue. Things ain't the same since many years ago (2015/16 to be exact) My server did so well back then, but times change. Seems the only way your server will get popular now-a-days, is if you have a famous YouTuber/Streamer backing it. Apart from that, goodluck. Just stay consistent and hope you get lucky.
Rough time getting a popular community server if you're not a youtuber
I agree, the server i am on was 80% full back then but now only get the "2 hour players" who come then leave or just log onto the server and go within 2 or 3 minutes, lucky i mainly play for base design and to pass the time (home business) But most of the old time players are gone, Just hope the server keeps running or will have to find another one,
Yeah... Over time the community changes, just ain't the same vibes anymore. I not that long ago stumbled upon my old Rust recordings, and I must say it did bring a tear to my eye. Back in the days when Communication was such a strong word, and it wasn't all KOS as it is now... 1 liek = 1 cry
