(Video is pretty distressing) Sarah P. is the current record holder of surviving the McKamey Manor for 6 hours, no one has made it through completely yet but the total time of the entire shit fest would be around 8 hours.
For the unaware, McKamey Manor is a 'extreme haunt' where guests sign a liability waiver and get are exposed to some serious emotional and psychological torture.
Entry is free, though you need to donate 4 bags of dog food for charity. Waiting list is currently at around 30,000.
Oh god this place.
Every time I hear about it I'm astounded that they're still open.
Geeze, This is a borderline snuff film.
Video unavailable?
They pretty much don't let you leave once you've signed the waiver unless you're in need of serious medical attention.
A bunch of genuine fucking psycopaths who've found a way to legally enact their fucked up fantasies.
You have to watch it on youtube, the uploader has disabled playback on other sites.
it's not like they're kidnapping people, man. if you walk in those doors you know what the place is about.
It's the same thing that makes people like me sky dive or mountain climb, sometimes you gotta feel like you're about to die to appreciate the privelage of normal living.
Passing out (multiple times)
Signs of extreme emotional distress
Becoming aggressive to the "actors"
That's about it, yeah don't go in there if you are thinking of just heading out after a hour.
have they never been sued? i cant access articles about it because of GDPR. i dont see how a waiver gives them any protection thats like saying you cant revoke consent during sex, if you tried using that as a defense you would get laughed
People voluntarily sign up to get killed and eaten by cannibals, it doesn't make the perpetrator less fucked up though.
Tennessee's McKamey Manor
Article describes certain aspects of the legality of it, it's legal alright.
Some people really wanna get a kick out of things and McKamey Manor is the place to be for the extreme thrill seekers, there are more then 30000 people signed up so it's not like it's reserved for the very few people who actually dare.
it says right in that article
“Tennessee is a state where you can withdraw your consent at anytime,” he continues. “Even though someone may sign a really long consent form, if they ever indicate that they’re withdrawing consent, [McKamey] should take that seriously. Because if the person really has withdrawn consent, and [you] continue to confine the person against their will, then you’re actually committing a crime.”
I can understand mudding gauntlets, haunted houses, bungee/sky diving, but what in the hell is there to gain when youre tortured for 5+ hours.
also talks about drugging contestants oraly or by needle, again if you druged someone and injured them i dont se how a waiver would provide any protection at all
if people are into it thats there thing but without a safe word or revocation of consent theres no way its legal
Torture, mind you, that is even illegal according to international law if it were used for war criminals and such; MM torture is literally more dangerous, cruel, and risks more long term health consequences than what's practiced in places like Guantanamo Bay.
I remember watching a documentary about this place (and other haunted houses like it) the guy behind it looks like such a stereotypical friendly dad and is obviously a total sociopath, it's kinda hilarious
Do you remember what the documentary was called? I'd love to check that out.

idk if its still on netflix but thats where I watched it
Jesus fuck... I had to stop when they started feeding the girl her own vomit... It's gonna take me a month to watch the "horror video" in increments.
I'm so proud of her what an inspiration
Wait hold the fucking phone, tooth pulling? This guy actually permanently disfigures entrants by pulling some of their teeth out if they don't specifically say not to?
Jesus fucking CHRIST
Even the most hardcore sadomasochism communities have a huge respect for consent.
This place needs to be shut down. Somebody is going to for real die.
I saw this last night and spent some time looking into it, and Russ McKamey is one creepy fuck.
There is something off about him, the way he talks to guests outside of the "manor" made me fell like this was more than a game. I went looking for other comments or videos that weren't by Russ.
There is a pretty good read here on the whole thing, take it with a grain of salt as its reddit.

After watching videos on outube, this doesn’t seem as bad as people are claiming. I still think it should be illegal, but honestly anyone that can survive an hour in a Korean spa can easily beat the 8 hour challenge of the manor.
you must be joking.. they went from a "ha-ha spooked ya!" haunted house format to a "ha-ha im going to bind your legs and arms and waterboard you and force feed you dead rats while swearing at you." snuff-film format.
I was doing ok with a grain of salt up until that kidnapping part.
Then i needed a spoonful.
It would be pretty important to observe an entire session of what happens to them instead of having greatly shortened segments on youtube.
Because based purely on youtube shit there is a ton of psychological intimidation and gross out shit based on the participant's face but I have not noticed any actually serious forms of bodily harm.
I think that the tooth pulling part is totally faked to get into the victim's head, they shove the forceps in their mouth and gently tug, and then show them a fake ass tooth as if they actually did it, and squirt lots of fake blood all over the place.
However it's not known if it's just a heavily edited segment of everything that is most pg or if the entire thing is this way, because if it's this way all the way through then it's more of "8 hours of intense high school hazing" rather than full blown torture.
no, they actually do a staged kidnapping before taking you to the "manor" where some dudes in masks throw you in the back of a van

I think this is the longest cut, it also includes him signing the waiver and repeating the things that could potentially happen to him.
