You all know that gmod is widely played on weak computers. And those guys with weak pcs are like 70% of the community as far as i am concerned. UE4 needs good pc, does it?
Nah, I think UE4 can be run on a comparative potato, plus it depends on the maps, spawned props and whatnot. But to be honest, if one's computer can barely run Gmod, it makes little sense to weaken or hold back Sandbox just for the sake of computers that are a decade and a half old at this point.
hold back Sandbox just for the sake of computers that are a decade and a half old at this point. Just to spit in the face of the notion that potato pcs probably wont able to play s&box, I'm going to (try) get my collection of office slim tower pcs to run the game come release. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/109874/9fcd584c-cce5-4518-8070-97111ec86b68/pcs.jpg This is not a joke either. I've got somewhere in the ballpark of like half a dozen other pcs (namely CAD work stations with mediocre 1GB gpus that run like potatoes because "downclocks and things") too. Obviously due to space constraints I can't run all of them but I'll be damned if I don't run at least a few. This is not a toxx.
I had that exact computer on the top of that pile! Unfortunately, the fan on my graphics card broke when using it, and therefore lived the rest of its live with the case off, and a fan pointing into it.
Any gtx graphics card from 2010+ is able to run most ue4 games fine on lower settings. If you still can't run it that should be your cue to get a new card.
