I've looked at a lot of amazing artwork done in gmod and recently I've been wanting to get into scene building, so i figured i'd take a crack at it and make my first scene build. Please do let me know if there's something i should improve on, would greatly appreciate it. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/273584/5bfa06ae-6e9f-4c6e-9c9f-b878cdc580a2/poster-18-05-31 21-33-59.png
Mate if this is your first scenebuild you've done an unbelievably good job. My only criticism other than the full black shadows on the wood beams to the right is that the scene could be a little brighter. Other than that bloody solid start
The scenebuild is pretty good, the lighting is quite atmospheric and fits the scene quite well, I think. The grass looks a bit repetitive however and next time you should try to break it up a bit with another grass effect. Another thing that bothers me a bit, is that fact that the soldier facing the camera is missing a texture on one eye, which becomes very apparent once you click on the image and view it in fullsize.
Good build, posing and lighting (especially for a first time). As for improvements I'd generally be more careful about using lower-quality assets so close to the camera - in this case the grass is a bit off putting as others mentioned, I'd try and scale it down using resizing tools and expose more of the ground
Thank you! also yeah after posting i noticed something wrong with most of the models, im still trying to mess around with a ton of models i downloaded, but i greatly appreciate the help
