I've been meaning to replace my current monitor for a 4K one since I upgraded my computer, but I don't really know what to do about getting a 4K TV/Monitor, obviously I don't want input lag or anything like that, but for 4K, what's a good TV/Monitor to buy?
Well that 2nd one is 165Hz, which confuses me to no end, it seems random as hell of a number but, IPS Monitor though.
what games do you play? i think unless you play a lot of "esports" games i wouldnt specifically pick a high refresh rate monitor
General experience is way better on a high refresh rate display, even browsing and office work is more enjoyable when everything is butter smooth at 144/165. First time you go above 60 you'll likely spend a few minutes just moving the cursor around due to how fucking nice it feels compared to 60 Hz. Obviously if you're into shooters of any kind the effect is going to be even more noticeable. I have the second one Lolkork mentioned, it's very nice.
This isn't even close to being true. Yeah CSGO feels 1000x better at 165hz but so do a lot of games like Streets of Rogue and Cities Skylines (before you have a high pop and your frames tank to 30).
I find my 32" monitor to be a good size, but for some reason it's rare and it seems like most 4k monitors come in ~28".
So I got my XG270HU in the mail today, now the other monitor I had as my main one looks washed out and has a blue tint, oh and the contrast and shit on this Acer is way out of range for what should be decent. The lack of a remote aswell is confusing as fuck, the refresh rate though is super noticeable and 60 now looks shit, I've made a mistake, 60 is now bad.
you'll forever notice 60fps mouse/window movements, but in videogames you'll hardly care try this if you're having color problems: https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/108633/0614ecf8-cc90-4b7f-8685-2f0d6c261476/image.png
I'm colourblind though.
I bought this one. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Acer-XG270HUA-27-inch-FreeSync-ZeroFrame/dp/B00U2FDO4C?th=1 So what should I do then?
I just ordered a Acer XZ350CU.
I've upped the Digital Vibrance since the colours are a bit flat otherwise, through the NVidia control panel, at 64% The white on this monitor is bright as fuck though.
The one with A at the end is TN, IPS lacks the A.
HU and HUA are both TN Panel though.
Didn't realise those were the freesync panels, was on my phone so I didn't check, my bad. For the G-SYNC panels the HUA is TN and the HU is IPS.
Ah k, I think I'll just keep this monitor though instead of returning it, once you get the settings right it's a decent monitor really.
OK this monitor is now starting to piss me off, I changed something about with the settings because something looked off, now it just looks like shit completely and I can't get it to look decent anymore, how the flying fuck do I even calibrate this monitor at all?
