so me and some friends are wondering if it would be possable to make a capture the flag game with the serverside tools avaliable. if so any info on how we could set it up would be usful as none of us have set up a server our selves. i eger to learn all i can.
There is this:
Event manager
Which requires these:
EMInterface
Kits
Zones Manager
Spawns Database
And can run this:
Capture The Flag
There is also a paid plugin for $30 that's an AIO:
Arena
Has built in events:
Free for All
Team Deathmatch
Survival
Team Survival
GunGame
One in the Chamber
Capture the Flag
NPC Survival
I suggest to learn some C# so you can make you own modes where you know every line of code
Oh. An additional plugin you also may want to use is CopyPaste. You can either crate an arena on your server and save it. Or create the arena in Fortify, save it as a .json, upload it to the oxide/data/copypaste folder and paste it to your designated area.
This makes things so much easier for after wipes. Just /paste arenaname and you're done. No need to build another arena from scratch. I personally like to paste my arenas way out in the ocean so players stay out of them if I decide to use the plugin Replenish to make self replenishing loot crates with gear/weapons/ammo/meds. Though it's not as effective at hiding the arena if you are running a server with LustyMap as it shows the coordinates and players can hop in a boat and zip back there any time. So you should wall off the arena and put a nobuild flag as this will keep players from laddering into the arena.
If you are placing the arena on land you may run into an issue where the building is either partially underground or floating. To fix this use the command /undo and then /paste arenaname height whatever. Try starting with 0 and go from there. You can use 0.5, 1.2, -1 any number like that. If it doesn't work, just /undo and try another height.
Also. In your copypaste config. It's a good idea to have the stability set to false "Stability (true/false)": false as building an arena in fortify may not always replicate the Rust stability 100%.
The easiest way is to have a rocket launcher in one box and a flame thrower in another. These are the "flags". When an opposing side takes the item it shows an their back so you can identify where and who has it. Kill them and take it back to the box.
I like simple ....
