https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/229888/a18e05ac-05cb-4fb3-bce5-140b154ebe8c/image.png My alerts didn't show anything regarding the JB3 forum, despite new posts being made. This is supposed to show up on the reply alerts button, yes? If not, it should.
It shows new threads being made. If you want to see new posts, you're going to have to subscribe to threads you're interested in. If it worked the way you thought it worked and you subscribed to the "Games" forum, you'd get approximately 350 notifications a day.
But the button says "You'll get alerts of new threads AND REPLIES in this forum"
i keep seeing that picture in the latest threads bar and thinking ive subscribed to GD by accident...
Perhaps it just means replies to threads you've engaged with? But yeah, I agree that it's misleading either way.
Well I can see that the new thread notification works. But I also wanted the replies to show up, since that's what the extended option says it does. Obviously subscribing to a large part of the forum will clog your notifications; that's why I'm doing it with the JB3 forum. It isn't that active and I wanna see everything people have to say about it. For now I'm just opening the forum itself and checking which threads have new posts in them.
Subscribe to the threads you're interested in
That's not really addressing the issue here at all? The option OP is talking about is specifically stating that it basically subscribes you to every thread in a subforum. It clearly isn't working so it'd be better to actually acknowledge that's an issue or clarify that what it says isn't actually what it's supposed to do. (As well as clarifying what that option is supposed to actually do if it's not supposed to do what it states it does.)
tbh seems more like bad wording than anything
Do you mean the button? Cause that button has three options: https://i.imgur.com/z7DBdUF.png The top option does exactly what it says, as does the second one. The third one seems to imply you'll get alerts for all posts in that subforum. If that's not what it actually does then it's very unclear what the point of that button is even supposed to be.
Sorry, you need to Log In to post a reply to this thread.
