How do I stop Windows from fucking with the volume mixer settings all the time?

Basically Windows just keeps doing this. Every now and then, I open up the volume mixer, and some applications are changed to like 5% volume, while others are 40% volume, and sometimes the system volume is at 0%, and sometimes *insert thing* is at *insert volume*
From what I can tell it's completely random. I wish this wouldn't happen at all.
Anyone know how to stop it from happening?
Try this, go to sound control panel and set this to do nothing.

I did that maybe a year ago to try and combat the issue. Sadly it's had zero effect.
I have this exact same problem and never found a working solution. My mic volume keeps randomly resetting to 0% too.
Do you use Teamviewer often? One of my friends and I noticed that if our microphones detect noise outside of their volume range (read: mic spamming), Teamviewer will completely disregard Windows' settings and just lower the volume anyway.
I have TeamViewer running pretty much all the time. I don't understand why it would care about microphone inputs at all. I'll check the settings for it.
Teamviewer cares about those because nowadays you can not only establish a remote desktop session with someone, you can also communicate with them with its built-in VoIP, I believe. Poorly executed, perhaps?
