• I'm ready for this future: Scientists turn people into anime with deep learning

Nijigenka (二次元化) is Japanese for “2D-ification.” It’s a term for when artists take photos of people and turn them into anime characters. But now researchers are starting to have A.I. do the image-to-image translation. At a recent workshop about deep learning in Tokyo, a researcher from Fudan University gave a presentation on creating anime characters with artificial intelligence. Researchers are using deep learning to produce anime versions of real photos. (For more image-to-image translations, watch this clip.) https://kotaku.com/using-a-i-to-turn-real-people-into-anime-art-1826598115?IR=T Some of them look really good, other not so much.
Come on anime'd Trump and Bernie.
I hope someone will put out an implementation of this, there's a similar thing called twingan, but it doesn''t have code available either: GitHub

@Butthurter might be banned but their legacy lives on
How about furries?
Hey now, some Korean shadow puppets are fine
DId they introduce the deep learning AI to those "how to draw anime" books instead of the real thing or what
