i'm intrigued. mizuguchi working on a tetris game that's not developed by ubisoft? sign me up.
"let's make tetris but with a WHOLE LOTTA SHIT GOIN' ON"
I think my chakras just blitzed the fuck out
I would've never imagined a day when Tetris would be remade in Unreal Engine.
Why not? I mean, it ain't got nothing on Doom which is playable on a phone inside the unreal engine.

this is genuinely the first game that made me sad i don't have a ps4. holy shit, i never fall for games with barely any gameplay in their trailer, but this has got me hook, line and sinker.
That was such a good trailer I almost refused to believe that this was literally just another tetris variant what the fuck
How can you have a trailer for Tetris and have nearly zero Tetris-related imagery - let alone actual gameplay - in it until the last five seconds?
What a non-entity. All cheap attempts at generating "hype" and no substance; a bunch of shots of space and dramatic music amount to nothing on their own. Mute the narration and most of this trailer could've been about anything.
I started off interested but was utterly bored by the end. You wanna try pulling the "psychedelicized classic" angle, look at how Bit.Trip does it.
They maybe shoulda mixed the audio a little better I could barely hear the narration over the loud ass backing track.
Because literally everyone on the planet knows what Tetris is, and looks like.
Well, it certainly confused me; the fact that the visuals were psychedelic and inner-eye like and not Tetris based at all, while the narrator was talking about a mental phenomenon that is merely named after the game, made me actually believe for a moment that the game wasn't about Tetris, until they finally did show the blocks.
I'll just take whatever universe the trailer is in in vr format thanks!
Pretty much what I thought. I actually heard of the game yesterday and though, "Wow, they actually made a game based off the Tetris effect? Sounds like an interesting concept, I wonder how they'll pull it off. Maybe it's about finding Tetris-like patterns throughout your environment and solving puzzles that come from other things turning out to be disguised games of Tetris."
Then I watch it today, get nothing out of the trailer, and then have to go searching for info to find out it's just plain old Tetris with some shiny VR borders. Like - it isn't even done up in a way like Pac-Man CE was, it's literally just basic-ass Tetris. The actual gameplay part of it is as barebones as you can get, even visually. It's literally just a plain black Tetris field with some tetromino skins. Talk about a letdown.
That sounds like a pretty neat alternate interpretation for a game idea based off of the Tetris Effect
What the hell did I just watch?
It felt like it was one of those modern commercials where they have different clips of people, a family, a group of friends, maybe a cute couple, and they all come together for a chocolate bar or a Coke.
But there is no people, no chocolate, and no Coke. Just some god damn Tetris.
Fuck it, I'll buy the game. I Love Tetris.
Drugtris or Lsdis?
That is fair enough, I just went into it with the assumption of it being a normal Tetris game, nothing more. I can see where you are coming from though.
Whenever someone mentions running Doom on something I feel compelled to post this.
