https://www.newsarama.com/40263-vertigo-relaunching-with-new-titles-socially-conscious-message.html There's a name among these people will probably recognize, and you're right, the guy who wrote the pretty excellent Flintstones book is doing a book about Jesus' second coming.
from writer Zoë Quinn Eeek
Can't wait for a superhero role model that bullies people into suicide, and abuses thier boyfriend and then sues them.
Oh boy, a comic centered around internet drama!
May as well post the synopsis too In a near future where all of humanity’s needs are administered by a godlike A.I., it’s one young woman’s horrible job to do tech support on it. But when Cassandra finds herself violently drawn into a hidden and deadly digital world beneath our own, she discovers a group of super-powered women and horrific monsters locked in a secret war for the cheat codes to reality. $10 it turns out to be a literal war against internet trolls.
oh jesus christ that synopsis reads worse that Ready Player One
Oh god, I was joking!
She was going to save a kid from a burning building but first she had to complain about men being evil
Didn't Quinn lose the lawsuit against her Ex and now has a restraining order against her being near him or something like that?
'cheat codes to reality'? What is this, the 90s?
Almost all of these comics, sound like shit/ trying way to hard to appealing to the "#woke" crowd
Well, they’re trying to be “socially relevant.” Probably because what made the Vertigo imprint a thing is being done better by companies like Avatar Press, so they have to have some kind of gimmick
All of those sound way too fucking try-hard. Or already done. Or both.
Wait, wasn't she supposed to have completed an FMV game? Now she's writing a comic? Yeah sure, you're totally not milking things.
Oh god I thought you were joking.
Let's go through these one by one. BORDER TOWN When a crack in the border between worlds releases an army of monsters from Mexican folklore into the small town of Devil’s Fork, Arizona, the residents blame the ensuing weirdness—the shared nightmares, the otherworldly radio transmissions, the mysterious goat mutilations— Oh hey this sounds alrig on “God-dang illegals.” With racial tensions supernaturally charged, it’s up to new kid in town Frank Dominguez and a motley crew of high school misfits to discover what’s REALLY going on. god damn it Maybe it'll be alright. Maybe. HEX WIVES “The women are too powerful. They must be tamed.” A malevolent conspiracy of men brainwashes a coven of witches to be subservient, suburban housewives. But it’s only a matter of time before the women remember their power... Stepford Wives but with less subtlety. Has potential, but not promise. AMERICAN CARNAGE In this thrilling crime saga, disgraced FBI agent Richard Wright, who is biracial but can pass for white, goes undercover in a white supremacist group believed to be responsible for the death of a fellow agent. Sounds neat. ZOE QUINN PLEASE STOP In a near future where all of humanity’s needs are administered by a godlike A.I., it’s one young woman’s horrible job to do tech support on it. But when Zoe Cassandra finds herself violently drawn into a hidden and deadly digital world beneath our own, she discovers a group of super-powered women and horrific strawmen monsters locked in a secret war for some stupid bullshit about game journalism the cheat codes to reality. do I need to say anything HIGH LEVEL Hundreds of years after the world ended and human society was rebuilt from scratch, a self-interested smuggler with a price on her head is forced to traverse a new continent of danger and mystery to deliver a child messiah to High Level, a mythical city at the top of the world from which no one has ever returned. Blame! but with actual character personalities. Sounds neat. SAFE SEX A dystopian sci-fi thriller about a ragtag team of sex workers fighting for the freedom to love in a world where sexual pleasure is monitored, regulated and policed by the government. Shimoneta but with the distinct possibility of taking itself seriously. If it does try to take itself seriously, it's shit. If not... then maybe it'll be passable. SECOND COMING God sends Jesus to Earth in hopes that he will learn the family trade from Sun-Man, an all-powerful superhero, who is like the varsity quarterback son God never had. But, upon his return to Earth, Christ is appalled to discover what has become of his Gospel and vows to set the record right. From Mark Russell? Sounds a little preachy but will probably be good. Although that art for Sun-Man... uh this is the only thing I can think of when I see it https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/210867/1bcfc78f-1939-49b9-b023-f4a46927e87a/postal's ass sun.png

“The women are too powerful. They must be tamed.” is a truly amazing quote. I can't stop laughing at it
