This cannon fires unbelievable ammo to blast through walls and help rescue victims

Sounds like a great way to finish off shooting victims as well, a water bottle at that velocity is no joke
Saving shooting victims by blasting holes in walls.
This sounds like someone watched a cartoon and suddenly thought to themselves 'you know...'.
Pick one:
More emergency exits
Blasting holes in walls with fucking canons
The USA never seizes to amaze me.
Only in the US of A
Russia is miles ahead of this. They used similar technology in the Beslan school siege. If I recall correctly it's called a T-72.
So the best way to save shooting victims is to blast blocks of water, plastic, concrete, wood and sheetrock at those same shooting victims.
I mean it's just water right, it's atleast not a dense liquid right? ,':-P

Oh..
Good, now give all the teachers one so they can defend themselves when a shooting does happen again.
Amazing, there truly is no problem that can't be solved by blowing shit up.
"Guys, guys, guys, here me out... What if... Guys... What if... We handle guns in schools by making a BIGGER gun, but it fires water?!" *bong rip*
Gotdamn, I never would have thought that little amount of water could crush a car from only that height.
Breaching equipment, are you fucking kidding me. That’s not going to do anything in a school shooting situation unless they know the exact location of the shooter, which is highly unlikely given that response teams aren’t going to have time to sit back and gather intel while people get killed. It would be safer for the victims to have a response team clear the building and evacuate everyone; not fire a fucking cannon to breach a room where innocent people are sheltering in place.
Also this does nothing to help prevent shootings in the first place.
Is this a new operator for Rainbow Six Siege?
This has to be one of the most stupid ideas ever, and I bet my ass it's only news because someone paid for it to be there.
You read the article and it's like we have traveled a thousand years into the past and all of a sudden crude cannons got invented and we are finding all kinds of uses for them, "You can blast holes in walls!", "You can stop vehicles!", "Ammo is very common!", "You can put it in a vehicle!".
Yeah sure, because a big-ass compressed air cannon firing water bottles at a potential terrorist driving a car is such a thorougly thought-out idea, after all it's not like we already have way more portable devices capable of hitting the broad side of a barn from a distance while delivering non-explosive-yet-vehicle-disabling projectiles at multiple times the speed of a water bottle propelled by air. Or in the case of breaching a wall, what kind of advantage do you have by using this device instead of conventional explosives? Debris is going to fly somewhat randomly at high speed either way, thing is, an explosive charge doesn't carry the additional risk of the penetrator failing to disintegrate in the process, potentially causing more injuries.
Hell, I'd consider explosives to be safer because of shaped charges.
By the time we have equipment that can pinpoint an active shooter through walls, we'll have bullets that auto target said individual, also through walls.
um couldnt you just use windows
When half our solutions to gun crime is more gun, its not surprising.
I mean it's gonna hit a wall before it hits someone
Imagine being in a hostage situation in a classroom and suddenly the cops decide to hit your room with a good old broadside salvo followed by a boarding party.
And then that someone will get hit by the collapsing wall, your point is?
Those are mining excavators, so if those shovels are full, it could be anywhere from 15,000 to 22,000L (and I think it is the one with the 22m3 bucket), or 22000kg of water potentially.
No windows in schools.
NO SUNSHINE ALLOWED! IT IS VERBOTEN!
I sure am glad we have so many demolitions engineers on FP, and ones with advanced understandings of fluid dynamics to boot.
Leave it to America to weaponize freaking water bottles then turn it into a tool to rescue people.
Imagine hiding in a classroom, glancing between the door and the outer wall, wondering which one's gonna cause your death first.
What an insane idea.
Eh the title is a bit clickbaity, it has a lot of uses like rescuing people in hostage situations or in a burning building. School shootings is just one of those applications.
this just in
school shooter jdam'd in texas, more at 11
how much further can you go before you just outright explore the idea of demolishing the school to save people
the 4th time i've said this but every day the US becomes more of a parody of itself
