I'd link LA Times but that's geoblocked in EU because of GDPR . From CNET: Former Qualcomm CEO Paul Jacobs has started a company focused on wireless technology -- but that doesn't mean he's giving up on his plans to take Qualcomm private.   The startup, called XCOM, will work to tackle issues related to next-generation mobile communications, including 5G. Qualcomm's former president, Derek Aberle, and former chief technology officer, Matthew Grob, also have joined the new company. Aberle will serve as XCOM's operating chief, and Grob will be CTO. Jacobs will serve as CEO.  "Our feeling is there's not enough investment happening around communications and wireless tech in the US in particular," Aberle told CNET in an interview. XCOM aims to look at issues related to 5G like reliability, latency and security, he said, as well as "ideas for how we can advance beyond those things." They're also self aware of what they did: https://twitter.com/FXS_MisterKevin/status/1004864707453480960
I only expect a 30 percent chance of it being a hit
Clearly just setting up a front company to hide the real XCOM they just formed because aliens are on the way. Welp, we’re all about to get our ass probed by ayys. Get your assholes ready for some 45% flanking shots and full cover crits, lads.
I am (not) ready!

It'll be fine. Every man woman and child will be given a burst-fire laser rifle and are instructed if Aliens appear to simply shoot in the general direction of the aliens until no aliens (or buildings, doors, walls, etc) remain.
