• Mysterious D:\ drive, unable to open.

For reasons unknown, a drive simply called "ESP" has appeared on my drives list. Device management shows it's a disk drive, but to my understanding this laptop has never had a CD drive of any type. Attempts at accessing it are rendered entirely fruitless, as it asks me to confirm my access, only to deny it, stating to review the security tab. Except this security tab is non-existent, and I've been on a wild fucking goose-chase trying to figure out how to enable it, which lead me to trying to forcibly take control of it via the command prompt. This didn't work, because for some batfuck insane reason, it's formatted as Fat32, and despite that it has security measures that the command prompt itself said doesn't support. It's approximately half full, with 46.6 Megabytes free, 49.3 used. Malwarebytes has shown absolutely nothing on the drive, scanning 292 items on it. So, my question is twofold. What the fuck is this, and how do I get it open? https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107127/9c2b23d6-d2ef-4118-ad1b-8d8eea097f82/image.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107127/62f956d4-6e6a-4cb7-9ae8-cf18f6ad61ad/image.png
That looks like your EFI System Partition https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EFI_system_partition
Did it show up after the creator update for windows?
Wikipedia says that the identifier for it on the GUID is C12A7328-F81F-11D2-BA4B-00A0C93EC93B The one that I'm getting from it is 4D36E967-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318 https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107127/cab00e7d-5016-4b78-a888-edc37cd17e87/image.png Is this normal, and I'm just being paranoid? Because this doesn't seem normal at all. Also, I was wrong about the CD drive thing. The hardware name for D:\ is the exact same as the C:\ drive: WDC WD10JPX-22JC3T0.
That is a bit odd. Does the D:/ drive still appear after a reboot?
I'm going to give rebooting a try. If I don't respond within an hour, assume that the computer gained sentience, and seek nuclear shelter. That or something else has gone terribly wrong.
do you have 1803 downloaded but not? I also had a weird mystery SYSTEM drive show up when i had 1803 downloaded but not installed
Guys I'm ok, why the sympathy? Just taking forever to update is all
