“Sixteen thousand people, many of them in Texas, for whatever reason that is. People went out in their boats to watch the hurricane,” Trump said on a Wednesday conference call with disaster relief officials. “That didn’t work out too well.”

In reality, HPD put out a call for private citizens willing to volunteer their boats for the official effort, organizations like the Cajun Navy dispatched boats from out of state, and countless neighbors took to their canoes, kayaks, and dinghies to execute daring rescues as the rising water stranded people across the city and along the Texas coast. We chronicled these efforts in real time and devoted our October issue to telling the stories of some of those heroic individuals. Looking back at photos, none of the boaters seem to be enjoying leisure time.
Since that comment, Texas officials have made it clear the Commander-in-Chief’s version of events bears no resemblance to how things went down before, during, and after Harvey.

"If it wouldn't have been for us, they wouldn't have been picking up live bodies. They would have been picking up deceased bodies," Billot said.
The president's comments also dumbfounded Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.
"I don't know what information he had or where he drew his comments from to make that assessment," Gonzalez said. "It's not reflective of what I saw out on the front lines."
People involved in the massive rescue are not happy. Posted the article in a group text I got goin that includes someone that was heavily involved in the Cajun Navy and I haven't heard the end of it.
I really don’t understand what trump thought trump was trying to say. What an idiot.
Poor Trumpy's really starting to lose it. I'm afraid we'll have to put him in a home before long. It's for his own good, really.
The 25th Amendment is purpose-built for this situation. If only the cabinet wasn't a bunch of stooges.
In the words of the guy from Get Out of my Car, I'm facing a fucking moron.
He doesn't either
Just like always.
i can't help but find this comment to be incredibly funny
how can you be so out of touch to think that the people trying to brave the storm in boats were out there just to watch the storm, just to have a grand ole time as the storm destroys their
house
it's like something a child would say, good god
About this much:

If I remember correctly, doesn't the 25th also require a 2/3 majority from BOTH House of Representatives and Senate?
So basically, trump saw pictures of people in boats doing rescue work, and thought they were sight seeing.
The mans senile.
im pretty sure trump can't comprehend doing something good for your fellow man
