Why is there so many posts about character change today? Was there a massive plastic surgery during the night?

Does he mean FB, as in face book? And I assume he is from another country considering his misspellings.
Character creation has absolutely no effect on the game therefore it is superfluous to survival in a Rust world.
The only customisation you can get is when I chop you up and eat your scrawny body, with a small plastic aged bottle of water to wash the bone chips down.
The next thing people will want is to make people skinnable. Then you will have camouflaged naked people or people with stay calm all over their bare back.
Wait I know, even better still, make all these complainers play with characters that look exactly like themselves in the real world. I bet there would be some complaining then.
