We've all had those encounters where things go bad, everyone scatters and suddenly... "is that my buddy or is that the douche that took a pop-shot at me?" "Is that you bro, jump check". Those split seconds of not knowing, when your bow is already drawn back, when your sights are aimed down and your ready to empty the clip into that self bandaging and looting silhouette. Its intense.
Trigger discipline, Avoiding friendly fire and keeping track of who is who and where ones teammates are is a skill that one develops through many hours of play. To add icons or tags that can be seen from far away would completely subvert this skill. Just like when they gave everybody the map with a grid. You no longer have to explore the map or remember which direction your house is or landmarks, its all given to you. BUT I can understand because it helps new players deal with one of the worst learning curves of a video game I've ever seen. The rant is, how much hand-holding do the devs really want in their game? We've already seen in game tips and objectives that are annoying af to anyone who didn't just buy the game. I mean come on.
(this is pure rant so feel free to just tell me to blow it out my $@% but its like when minecraft introduced the crafting book, players no longer have to experiment or remember how to craft items, 'I'm looking at YOU activator rail', all the fun of feeling accomplished was taken out of the initial startup of remembering how things worked and it reinforced the experience and replay value) Maybe I'm just doing too much nagging because of the delayed wipe but I'll shut up now.
No don't shut up, keep telling the world!
Everything you say is true.
Its also reflected in the amount of tech that is being pumped into the game to satisfy "I want it all now" types.
You know the ones, the ones that want the best of everything right now, otherwise they are bored or the grind is too hard.
So Devs listen up.
Rust = Grind
Rust = Getting shot in the back by your buddy
Rust = Feeling like a god after making a pointy stick
I agree, get so many players who join the server and if you dont want to team (and share all your goodies) or give
them weapons they leave,
I actually love the pure "idiocy" we see in battlefields, team mates shooting their team more than the enemy. Actually makes me laugh x'D
