Huh, so doesn't that mean Xbox will have 0 exclusives coming out this year?
When are they gonna cut the crap and just cancel it like every other exclusive they had in the oven?
???
Halo? Forza? GoW?
Yeah, at this point I'm seeing a repeat of Prey 2 which was continually pushed in development hell until silently cancled (albiet revived later as Prey)
Scalebound? Project Spark? Fable Legends?
Xbox One has very few games to it's name and the ones that are supposed to fill the gap keep falling into the abyss.
Yes We're all very excited for the next chapter of the only games Xbox has.
Series that nobody has cared about in years. Which is fitting because nobody cares about xbox anymore.
oh cut them some slack
i appreciate them bringing their 'exclusives' to pc
And I'm still angry about that.
Why the fuck is this still being pushed and not cancelled. Scalebound was cancelled and this wasn't? Are you fucking serious?
You and me both
There are console exclusives like Cuphead or State of Decay 2 being xbone console only but yeah seems like xbox is struggling this cycle. maybe that's why they're leaning hard on backwards compatibility instead, no other console is doing that.
I can't wait to play the Xbox One Launch Title Crackdown 3 at the end of the console's life span
This is why everyone should go with the same method that Bethesda uses: announce the game when you know that it's going to be released within a year.
Microsoft E3 2014 really was a mirage. All we got was Sunset Overdrive, a fundamentally broken-as-shit Master Chief Collection, and a bunch of cancellations.
Xbox One library is just absolutely pathetic. Compare to the blockbuster system sellers the 360 had. Sony doesn't have a ton of great exclusives yet their still destroying them. Microsoft really need to step up their game next generation, it feels too late for the Xbone.
You can thank E3 2013 for that. Hard to believe an entire console generation was decided just in the span of a few hours on a single day
.
Well Wii U had full Wii BC from the get-go, but yeah, I won't make any excuses for Switch. Understandable because it's at least using different storage media *coughSONYcough* but still a letdown.
TBH sony would have an extremely hard time to port PS3 games to PS4. PS3 architecture is such a nightmare to replicate or even work on because how different it is to literally any other console on the market. If devs know how to work it, you ended up with jaw dropping games. If not, you end up with saints row 2 on ps3:

missing shadows, washed out colors, blurry as fuck, horrible AA, and horrid frame rates at times.
Weren't the vast majority of PS4 games in the two years before Bloodborne came out just PS3 remasters, though? I mean Christ, you could at least give them a free download of the remastered version that only plays when the original version's disc is in the system. That's literally how Microsoft is handling BC now. It's above even Virtual Console's 1:1 focus; pop in an OG Xbox disc to your Xbone X now and it'll render the game in native 4K and everything.
Tell you the truth I've always been a Nintendo guy, but my eyes have been on Microsoft a lot lately as well. A poor exclusives library is one thing, but they've really been trying to do some good in the industry these days (hell, the Xbox Adaptive Controller is worth major props all on its own). Even five years ago I'd have found saying this unthinkable, but honestly, if Nintendo and Microsoft were to team up for the Nintendo 8 after Switch is over and done with, I wouldn't just not be mad anymore, I'd probably be thrilled.
... So long as they let me keep using Nintendo's ABXY anyway. The Xbox layout irritates me to no end.
To ensure we deliver the experience they deserve, "Crackdown 3" will be launching in Feb 2019
In the article they point out the release of Red Dead Redemption 2 and Black Ops IIII, so it's not down to "the experience they deserve" it's down to how many sales you might not make due to such heavy hitters releasing around the same time.
I'm getting the feeling that the destruction physics are going to be maybe a quarter of what they've shown off/promised. Offloading physics to online computing seems like an incredibly flawed idea from the get-go.
The real worrisome thing is that they haven't been showing very much footage of the game.
I really liked the original Crackdown, and Crackdown 2 was pretty good. I've been waiting for this game since it announced, it's getting pretty tiresome to see them keep pushing it away and not even showing anything about it.
Man I loved fucking around in Crackdown 1 with my friend back in the day.
I really hope they get their shit together and actually release it cause it's practically the only xbox exclusive I really want.
After watching MS's 2017 E3, god I'm so confused. That whole show was nothing
I wasn't really counting the Wii U. I think building in such intense backwards compatibility caused them issues as time went on. Like how many controllers were there for the wii u?
Made for the Wii U, two: the GamePad and the Pro Controller. The only other controller it could technically connect to on its own is the Wiimote (Plus model or otherwise); stuff like the Nunchuk and Classic Controllers already plugged into that even during the Wii days. Only other option is the GCN controller adapter they bundled with Smash (since Wii U itself ditched all official GCN BC), but that was literally only used for Smash.
Switch isn't that far off; only this time the controllers that actually connect to the system itself are the Joy-Con L, the Joy-Con R, and the Switch Pro Controller.
The last time they showcased this trainwreck it had almost no destructible stuff, who knows give them time maybe they have got a good engine going. I mean if it doesn't have anything of value it might as well be DOA.
I blame the destruction gimmick they tried to put into it and then keep having to tweak and scale back. It's already been limited to coop only because they know it can't handle more than a small minority of players using it.
The campaign won't have server-side destruction and is being handled by another studio.
I'll keep my bet from last year and say that Crackdown 3 will come out and won't have the destruction multiplayer thing at all.
