this fucking sucks man, i loved his shows
No shit, he was one of my favorite TV personalities. Always enjoyed Parts Unknown, this really blows.
This is one of the guys that got me into going outside my comfort zones with food. I can pretty much solely thank him for my addiction to fried dove.
hey what the fuck
no reservations was dope man i binge that show like every other month
Man this is so shitty. I loved his personality and how he seemed dissatisfied with the world and wasn't afraid to show it.
Wow this was a headline I was absolutely not expecting to see soon. His show was great, and beyond that he was just a fucking brilliant dude who suddenly found himself in the spotlight and managed to make the most of it. RIP
Fuck, he's what that got me into cooking as a chef RIP chef
Hurts to the core. The man fueled my exploration of food, cooking, other cultures, and venturing outside your comfort zone. His story telling was unmatched, goddamn what a loss.
This came as a shock, and I can't even fathom any other reason if the stresses of his career made him do so. The world is poorer for the loss of a great man.
Depression can take anyone. Goddamn it.

Goddamn, that's awful. No Reservations is a great fucking show.
Oh noooo. I always loved his stuff. I thought he had the coolest job ever. This is terrible..
This really fucking sucks to hear. He's definitely someone who ignited my interest in cooking.
I hope Asia Argento is doing okay
I follow him and a lot of other chefs on instagram and they really, really loved him. They're all shocked and devastated by the loss of their mentor, friend, and colleague. Goodbye Anthony and thank you for showing us the world.
Please tell me he's swimming in a bathtub of wines and cheeses in heaven right now.
Aww shit man, i was just watching Parts Unknown the other day
My dad loved his show to death. He would talk about Anthony almost every day. I was watching news this morning with my dad when this very story broke through and needless to say we were both completely shocked. I never knew about Anthony's struggle with depression and drug addiction until now. I never knew such an amazing man had such demons. Rest in peace you beautiful bastard.
I grew up watching Bourdain with my dad, even read his books as well. When one of my friends called me this morning to tell me the bad news, I felt like I lost a good friend today, rest in piece Tony, you're one of the only few people I would ever consider an idol besides my own father. Hopefully enough if there is an afterlife, my dad will get to finally meet you. Fuck.
Definitely not news I was expecting to see any time soon. I always loved watching his shows when I'd catch them on while flipping through the channels.

I wonder what drove him to suicide, I guess It just goes to show that money, fame and successor don't always bring happiness. I'll never forget all of his whacky adventures in parts unknown
Its also fucking terrible that one of his closest friend found him dead. And he leaves behind a 11 yr old daughter https://twitter.com/ericripert/status/1005144049223983104
This sucks. Loved that guy. Bourdain's outlook on life and food had a big impact on me; the guy went to exotic locations and ate with native tribes in jungles, he met and cooked alongside the finest chefs in France, but still enjoyed simple shit like a hot dog from a gas station and In-N-Out burger. Like, it's fine to want the finer things in life, but it's okay to enjoy the mundane stuff as well. As the man once said, "Your body is not a temple, it's an amusement park. Enjoy the ride." And, “I’ll be right here. Until they drag me off the line. I’m not going anywhere. I hope. It’s been an adventure. We took some casualties over the years. Things got broken. Things got lost. But I wouldn’t have missed it for the world.”
I highly recommend reading some of his books. In particular Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly, is an amazing look at behind the scenes in a restaurant. Drugs, sexual assault, and alcoholism are very prevalent in the world of food. Gordon Ramsay also talks about how common cocaine is in the kitchen in his BBC special Gordon Ramsay on Cocaine. Restaurant life is crazy.
