Well, Fidesz (the ruling party) is the most popular in Hungary - they've got around 50% of the votes for parliament - so as sad as it sounds, the Hungarian society supports him for the most part (at least 1/2)
the Hungarian people have to see the bullshit themselves, and this one will be hard, since people seem to believe the grand soros conspiracy, that is being really, really "used" by Fidesz, to gain popularity for itself and also as a scapegoat
Doesn't help that the opposition still act like squabbling schemers among each other, unable to present a strong alternative.
What exactly in the constitution are they planning to revise?
They're doing it in hard cover and embossed lettering this time. Paper back really doesn't cut it in 2018 tbh.
Isn't the biggest opposition party basically neo-nazis?
Oh no, Jobbik broke with the radical image years ago (well they as a party werent really neo-nazis either back then), and went full on center-right.
Their radical members were completely purged too, so it wasn't just about apologies either.
It's the left side of the opposition where parties try to constantly undermine each other in order to survive (which is arguably a bigger priority for some than getting Orbán out of his position).
He pretty much just said that "we'll see what worked and what didn't".
Considering they wrote the current constitution in 2011, and the fact that (for the most part in the past eight years) they had the power to make changes to it (granted by their two thirds supermajority), the changes might not be that radical or numerous. But who knows.
