I'm somewhat interested simply because Jamie Lee Curtis is back, but I'm afraid it will just adhere to typical slasher tropes (like the last scene of the trailer).
hahahaha this looks stupid as fuck I'll see it opening day.
I like how confrontational laurie is in the trailer. it's not something you see a lot in franchise pick-ups like these.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DAbDvqPFXvQ wish they got these boys to do some music for it but john carpenter is still the shit so
I think it's looking goooooood!
That ending scene is fucking dumb. "This door doesn't shut so let me keep attempting to close it and not bother to look down to see what is blocking the door." You would have seen the fucking foot. I mean I get it, Horror films are known for this shit but I just want some quality. And to be more specific, I want another Halloween 3: Season of the Witch.
Looks refreshingly low-concept. I'm not sold on them trying to 'retread' Michael. I get that people seeing this are the sort who see Sinister and Insidious and probably haven't seen the original, but that only had Dr Loomis and nobody else believed him. Laurie is now Loomis. I don't think I want this film to focus on two detectives saying "whoa look Michael Myers killed 3 teenagers 40 years ago, what a demented psycho!" while also adding "lol who's Busta Rhymes?" We get it.
A movie series that redefined the genre is likely to stick to the motifs and techniques that redefined the genre, the alternative is you get shit like Alien Resurrection and the Thing remake.
I like Halloween 3. Probably because it has absolutely nothing to do with the rest of the franchise. If was just called "Season of the Witch" without the Halloween prefix, it wouldn't have been shit on.
I'll enjoy this. I really like Rob Zombies horrible Halloween films, they were just silly and goofy and did a few things wrong but they're a guilty pleasure for sure.
I'm really confident in this. Nick Castle was the original Shape, John Carpenter has been on board, they're throwing out everything after H2 (including H20, surprisingly), Blumhouse has a fairly decent track record, and the cinematography and art direction is looking really interesting.
wow all the actors except will patton and jamie lee curtis look fucking terrible, like they all seem straight out of some shitty "Something of the Dead" zombie movie. and something about the look of the movie gives me the same vibes. im just hoping this is all on the trailer because if they make an atleast enjoyable new Halloween ill be content with that seeing as the last 'decent' one was the one where Josh Hartnett, LL Cool J and Jamie Lee Curtis fight against Michael in a school also season of the witch has a fantastic ending.
I'm cautiously excited for this, with the assumption it'll just be a typical slasher.
Michael Myers looks like a member of Slipknot.
It's Halloween. Halloween movies are typical slasher movies. When you think "slasher movie", you think of this, Friday the 13th, etc. Seeing a bit of "afraid Halloween will be a typical slasher movie" and that's just ridiculous lol. 3 doesn't count, that's why it wasn't very well liked among the Halloween fans, bc it was something else with the Halloween name tacked on.
Interesting, at first I heard this was going to take place after Halloween II again, but now I see they went and made it a sequel to the original only. I'm optimistic for it, even if it turns out bad, just having Jamie Lee Curtis there to hang on to should make it worth the watch for me personally.
hag vs mask
I think with a genre like slashers where they are so formulaic they're predictable newer films ought to try finding ways to mix it up. Otherwise, you get dumb scenes like at the end of trailer with people acting really dumb.
What if his weight is high enough to simply block it behind the door? He wouldn't need to put his foot at the gap.
You'd still hear the door banging into something, unless he is leaning into the door. He doesn't look fat.
Muscles are also weight. The scene is kinda weird though.
Part of me wants to think that the scene at the end is meant to be a prank pulled by either the babysitter or the kid.
