• Decay hurting player base?

I have noticed over the last few months that more and more friends have stopped playing Rust after being avid players. Having spoken to a few the main reason that comes up is not having the time free or the ability to be on every day or so to keep on top of decay, especially those with families and a busy work schedule. After losing a couple of bases due to this people seem to be leaving the game. Solo players seem to be the ones most affected. I understand the reasons for decays implementation but I am worried that in its current set up it may be hurting the game. If the figures I have heard about are correct since January peak players are down by 20k and average down by 8k. Community servers with no decay are not really safe as small updates can turn decay back on with the server owner unaware until people start complaining that their base is gone. I am just curious what the communities thoughts are on this issue?
The only issue I have is the fact that I can't have unlimited stack sizes in a TC. Or, at least, increased. I'm sure as hell not motivated to go on every day just because I have to move 25 stacks of stone from a chest to the TC otherwise all my work will be wasted. But its not a hard fix; I simply play on a lightly-modded server with higher stack sizes.
