With video games moving more into digital stores gamestop has been moving into being more of a "games culture" store.
So this isn't that unexpected in my opinion.
I don't really have a problem with it, the only times I enter a gamestop is to look at peripherals/consoles first hand anyways.

Pity Blockbuster didn't try to branch out more.
The Gamestop nearest to me converted their entire lower level, which used to house the Xbox and Nintendo titles, into a space for Thinkgeek to sell merch. The store has been reduced to just a few shelves at this point.
