Maybe not super alike, but pretty damn similar.
Which is quite funny to me since I primarily use reddit now since the big change
so is this a good thing or a bad thing
Am I the only one who likes the redesign?
Wasn't there an API promised so people could develop mobile apps/alternate sites?

I'm using old reddit and it still sucks balls.
i've got a question y'all, I tried to log in with my facepunch forums account, and it says "we don't want to store your password, login with google or some shit" (not accurate quote). i'm retarded, can someone tell me how to log-in back into my old acc?
you can merge your old fp account into this one
Facepunch Auth
I appreciated how well designed Newpunch really is after using New Reddit. It's so fucking atrocious.
The performance I get on New Reddit on my laptop is the shittiest I have encountered on a single website.
same goes for this site tbh, its slow as shit on older machines.
Fuck new reddit, I still use old reddit. Also am I the only one who noticed a lot less posts on newpunch? It just doesn't feel the same.
the lack of fp_popular and fp_read is probably to blame for that.
I don't see how this looks anything like reddit.
This forums is definitely slowly dying in its current state, I really wish garry would hurry up and reimplement missing features like Leestons mentioned.
The only thing similar here is the use of space. None of the features are remotely similar except for feature's you'll find standard in every modern discussion community.
idk if it's just me, but it's extra work to find interesting topics since you have you dig instead of just checking out popular, so nowadays I just stick to whatevers in the feed/LMAO pics
I agree, facepunch does look like a website
Main forum branches have been flooded with irrelevent subforum topics i dont want to see, too. If i go to a gaming forum i dont want half the page to be tf2 threads, the point of the gaming subforum is to see a variety of games topics, now its all just the same shit over and over again.
fp_read was what I regularly visited and since that's no longer here and there's not as reliable a way to check threads for new posts besides subscribing I find myself using these forums less and less
I hate both the old reddit layout and the new and the fact that this forum seems to be trending to becoming more that style is really unfortunate
The look doesn't really matter to me, the format does. Facepunch retained the forum format, and that's most important. Reddit's comment chain format is terrible, it encourages you to just read the top few comments and maybe drop your own, then leave to find the next post. Very ADHD-ish, and abysmal for having any sort of ongoing discussion. Not to mention it encourages the formation of echo chambers by only showing content that the majority have approve of first. If you're looking for help or post something disagreeable, your thread will only be seen by a very small number of people that browse the New section. Out of forum, comment chain, and image board, I personally think forum is the best for having a community and interacting with it.
