2.5 years sound really short for a massive/full disarmament
We can 'aim' all we like. There's nothing more than their say-so that they'd do it. NK is not known for making promises it keeps.
Pompeo on how they will verify the disarmament:

It's a bad deal when we have a plan in place to be sure Iran keeps up it's end of the bargain. But now it's insulting and ludicrous to not just take Trump, a compulsive liar, at his word when he promises it'll be ok. It seems like Kim came away on top and Don didn't even take fucking notes to keep track of what he gave away.
Actual quote from Trump's post-meeting press conference:
Well, I don't have to verify because I have one of the great memories of all time. So I don't have to. OK? OK?
He also admitted he went in with no strategy or preparation at all and fully intended to wing it on his salesman's instincts.
And the result is he got fucking played like a ten-cent tin flute.
America doesn't attack countries that have nuclear weapons. That's always been known, but everything Trump's done with Iran and North Korea since getting elected has reinforced that the path to being treated with respect internationally is to build some nukes.
This is not a good future.
China must be ecstatic about what our country agreed to
You're missing the point He didn't say anything about Trump being elected he specifically cited Iran and North Korea. I'm sure this has been explained in other threads but Trump pulled out of the Iran nuclear agreement despite Iran following the terms. Then he rushes to the table when North Korea demonstrates that it has a viable nuclear weapons program and makes several concessions while asking for very little in return, just personal assurances from this country that has repeatedly turned back around on personal assurances that they will denuclearize. This sends the signal to Iran that to get what they want they should pursue a nuclear weapon.
And this is why you surround yourself with competent people when doing politics so that you don't send very very bad signals like this one. Signals that can't just be undone.
