He makes pretty good points. I feel like he could've tightened up his own review, especially since now I feel like I just saw the entire movie again. How he presents his points also needs a loooot of work. I couldn't tell what I was cringing from more: the awkward raps or the guy's incredibly nasally, flat way of delivering most of his points. It sucks because there's a few points where you can tell he's getting passionate about this topic, and really feeling what he's saying, but too much of it just feels like he's reading off a script in a way that he feels is far funnier than what it actually is. This could have been turned into a competent family drama, even if he insisted on the ridiculous plot. The highpoint of this video is when he's talking about the sheer impossibility of the mom deciding all of this, and I feel like he could've expanded on that a lot more. It certainly would've been better than delivering the same point a dozen times. Cringe, we get it. Bad jumpscares, we get it. Immersion breaking, we get it.
You haven't seen YMS before have you? Watch one of his (decently recent) reviews on a film he actually liked and you'll see a different style. I do agree that sometimes he could tighten things up, but his voice is fine lol that's how he talks.
