The spokesman said that the driver made the decision “spontaneously” but had the full support of TfL. Good call from the TfL honestly.

Of course, its barely any disruption, he stopped for a few seconds and got back. If they complained it'll be a PR onslaught for them.
Damn, in America he would probably be fired, depending on what city it was.
I'll sound like a curmudgeon, but trains here are always suffering delays and shite like that, so a few moments' delay to pay genuine respects is nothing, societally speaking. If anything it's nice to know that a delay was for a genuine, benevolent purpose for once.
In Japan he would've had to commit Seppuku for making the train go grossly off schedule.
Honestly if he was fired here tube drivers would probably go on strike, which rightfully so they should if he was
considering how long you sometimes have to wait at the station while some dickhead blocks the doors over and over forcing them to slowly reopen and attempt to close again, this train probably still arrived early
