I was expecting something along the lines of NRAtv, but this isn't half bad.
It's actually pretty spot on TBH, you won't really enjoy it if you've never been in the military, or know what it's like to be in the military.
Its' gallows humor. Most people will never understand it, namely because they have never been put in such a situation.
I feel like the reporter tried to make some big thing about feminism during the barracks room filming scene.
I feel like she had a point, since from the way it was being described to the cast and crew it sounded vaguely misogynist, but the actual execution was more satirical. It's par for the course with VICE material, their correspondents always try to conflate the stories into some bigger issues or be willfully ignorant to what their reporting on.
Er, she seemed pretty down to earth and chill about the entire thing. She raised a point about the whole "no women in the writer's room" and the scene and even the other cast member, presumably a veteran herself, had some issues with it.
They're allowed to bring up how some of it can be objectionable, and the reporter is allowed to share her opinion.
