Credited with codifying the "platform fighter" genre, the series is directed by Kirby creator Masahiro Sakurai and takes gameplay in a rather different direction than most fighting games. Rather than a health bar with a set amount of health and the goal of depleting your opponent's to zero, fighters' vitality are instead measured in damage percentages: the the more you're attacked, the higher your damage rises. The higher it rises, the farther you fly when hit. Should you get knocked off the stage completely and find yourself unable to recover, you either lose a life or your attacker scores a point, depending on the game mode. The controls are also simplified from other fighting games; rather than complicated strings of commands for execution and different ones for each fighter, all characters have a unified moveset where attacks consist of a single button press and optionally a direction, and take it from there. This makes the series incredibly easy to get into for those who aren't fans of traditional fighters, while still allowing for enough flexibility and variety to keep players hooked for hours. Currently, there are four major installments, with a fifth on the way. [wip]
I can't believe I locked the thread with a SmUsh joke.
they asked "Please Stop" and Zombie delivered the killing blow
nice threadsnipe kappa
I wanted to post something and found it locked, so I made a new one. According to some people on the Smash subreddit, multiple characters now have extendable taunts instead of just Bayonetta. I wonder if that'll be the standard across the board?
I am incredibly excited for SmUsh I am going to book time off work just to play as much SmUsh as I can. SmUsh

Now now, boys. In 6 months you can settle it in SmUsh.
I hope we get more "Settle It In Smash" commercials. It's a good tag line with great commercials. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Gduv0FAvLQ
I'm curious if they'll bring this back now that David Hayer is voicing him.
Since Shadow Moses is back and this is the "Ultimate" Smash Bros, it'd be a crime not to
Why're you trying to pick a fight?
Will Pokefloats with stage hazards off just be a black screen?
No platforms spawn, fighters spawn in thin air and fall to their death
Real talk, Pokefloats is such a fucking weird stage. Just the fact that you're on these giant fucking cel-shaded Pokemen just freaks me the fuck out. It's like one of those early CGI uncanny valley sort of deals.
Not to mention they're like miles up and not even tied to anything. It's like someone cut all the cords on a Pokemon parade and all the characters were just like "THIS IS PERFECT!"
Also that they aren't completely frozen, some move their mouths, meaning they might be sentient.
the fact that they're all stadium 2 models doesnt help
https://twitter.com/narcissawright/status/1007436440530087936 Ganon Canon is back baby!
Also, I noticed that the stage uses Squirtle and Ivysaur, so I image they would either have to completely remake the stage or not include it at all because of that.
or not include it at all because of that. Don't say such blasphemous things.
If they made the Pokemon in Poke Floats look more like balloons there wouldn't be a problem.
I wish you could choose who Pokemon Trainer sends out like Shulk does with his Monado Arts.
