here we talk about fallout. No point in making fancy op. I hope the 7.62mm guns are back for good.
LEGION IS THE ONLY WAY
claiming the thread for my waifu and best companion ede
"fallout series version X: thread now limited to only 1000 reasons NV is better than 3"
Oh no. Now there will be hundreds of "hey isn't this interesting" threads, that only get one or two replies, repeated over and over, and discussion will die.

Gross.
I wouldn't expect much right now, this thread on Reddit says the only things we've seen for definite so far are the Laser Rifle, the Gauss Rifle and the Flamer (if you count those two as energy weapons). We'll probably get the Gatling Laser and Plasma gun, along with all the mods from FO4 to convert the Laser/Plasma guns into their different types. Maybe the Gamma Gun too, though I could see that not being a thing because of the lack of human NPCs.
Might be a craftable weapon. Also, I don't consider the Gauss rifle to be an energy weapon; does the game? One "advantage" to 76 at least is, even if there's not a lot of starting variety in weapons (though I don't see why everything in 4 plus some more wouldn't be in it), but continual updates, we'll get lots more stuff as we go along.
I was just working off of what the wiki classes it as, though that might be because it was an energy weapon in previous games. Most of the base weapons from FO4 wil probably show up, yeah. I doubt the Institute weaponry or the Laser Musket will show up (though the musket could), and I wouldn't really expect any of the unique weapons/weapon mods to show up. Who knows what they'll do with anything from the DLCs or Creation Club though.
Oh great, we've been split up into a fuck-bunch of threads in a subforum. At least we could've been bunched up with the Elder Scrolls thread in a bethesda section, but what-fucking-ever. Anyway, there was a Pete Hines interview on some website called Gamecrate.com, where he said something that caught my eye "...There are lots of different types of robots in the world that you can interact with and have dialog with and give you quests. There are lots of ways to give a player a quest" I'd assumed that with the online element, the dialogue system would have been ripped out altogether. Can't wait to have a deep, multi-faceted conversation with about thirty different variations of Codsworth The big question, of course, is if they've kept the four-directional options or gone back to the old style. Anyone taking bets?
I predict it will be the same system, only with a variable number of response from 1-4. That way they don’t have to write a bunch of extra ways to say, “Yes, I will take this quest.”
For those of you who pre-ordered 76 on Amazon, did you pre order the physical copy or the digital copy, did you get a beta key, if you did how long did it take?
what a beautiful slideshow of photos.
I wonder if someone would try and do something like this for f76, only for no one to be able to get in without going to 1 fps.
Physical, yes, ~2 days
so are we actually using this as a megathread or does everything go in the subforum, or do we just make a new megathread in the subforum, or what? I feel like nobody is quite sure where to post rn.
I still have a copy of the thread with all the links unless if we are just abandoning the op formatting entirely.
Making a good OP is still important to help new people find useful links or whatever.
Looks average, it's just a bunch of concrete blocks stacked together. I was expecting something like this except on a larger scale: http://imgur.com/a/ETPNs
I'm in my first playthrough of Fallout 1, and the hunt for the water chip has gone cold. I checked [sp] vault 15, shady sands, junktown, the hub (already paid for the caravan), necropolis, the boneyard, the brotherhood, first few levels of the glow, and probably some other place I can't remember off the top of my head. I've got 70-something days left and I've run out of leads. The only thing I have left is that a guy outside the hub casino told me there were four vaults somewhere, but never actually gave any direction to where they are. I would just go wander around doing sidequests until something shows up but I don't know if I'll be able to get the chip in time if I do that. Does anybody have some very vague nudges in the right direction they can give me?[/sp]
Those big cities and sim settlements and stuff are cool and all but they're probably not any better than the shitty shack settlements people usually make. I'd like to see an addon to sim settlements where quest givers and encounters can be generated around the buildings as they grow.
God damn that's impressive. Makes me wish there were a lot more shanty towns/slums to explore in these games.
my vague nudge is that the water chip can be found in a place that holds a secret underground vault in a place very near where you've been. my less vague nudge is that the water chip is in a place that mirrors the problem your vault faces. my direct spoiler is necropolis
Really wondering how 76 is going to implement the different playstyles. I know that VATS is all in real time, but some definitely seem more competitive than others. For example, I have as many memories gunning down fools while wearing power armor as I do gunning down power armored fools in VATS with a scoped rifle.
It would be great if they split the under armor system into Hands, Tops, and Bottoms. Feet optional, we all know how Bethesda handles those. Jumpsuits or utility overalls could be ripped in half or wrapped around your waist. Doubt it, but it would be cool to have more customization. This likely would lead to a lot of clipping especially around the waist. Still, it would be cool to mix and match the various stats. Then again, stats probably will work very differently from FO4. Example. Say the Army Fatigues are Str +1 and Agi+1, and the Baseball Uniform is also Str +1 and Agi +1. But, the AF's top is the Agi +1 and it's bottom is Str +1. The BU's stats would be vice versa. Meaning, you could wear the AF top and the BU bottom to get Agi +2, or the BU top and the AF Bottoms for Str +2. Different combinations could even lead into a meta, and allow players to look and play the way they want with more freedom.
I think they said the amount of "friends" you could invite was 3(so obviously a 4 man party
You need to raise their agility for faster attacks. Perception will make the crit thing move slower so it's easier to get good crits, and luck makes it pop up more often. Also once you can upgrade endurance throw all your level 1 dwellers in there for training, the health you get for levelling is determined by endurance and it is not retroactive. Also when trainging you want as many people training at once as you can, because each person training, the bigger the room, and the more upgraded the room all reduce training time by a little bit. Since it came out on the Switch that's all I've had running on it.
They've got a team limit of four people currently, so I assume that'll stop people form doing that. They may adjust that in future or add modes to allow for something else, like the 12vs12 team deathmatch that was mentioned in the Noclip documentary.
No because the invite system is seemingly limited to only you and four other people with everyone else being instanced/randomized.
