Yeah, this was really fucking bizzare, everyone was expecting something from the announcement, then he does this shit. He is honestly a joke. The political situation in the Czech Republic is really fucked up right now, you never know what to expect next.

I've actually seen articles that Zeman had a "secret" meeting with Daniel Beneš, a CEO of ČEZ Energy Service Company, and the prime minister Andrej Babiš, just before this weird ritual.
Thus many people think that the whole thing was nothing but a Trump-style distraction tactic; I mean, who's going to talk about some meeting when the president does a crazy fucking thing like this?

For those who can't be bothered to read the article or find out more about the significance of the red underpants, here is a short version;

In 2015, a protest group called Ztohoven climbed up onto the roof of the Prague Castle and replaced the Czech flag there with a pair of giant red underpants. Zeman had them taken down, obviously, and had the members of the group arrested.

To me, it seems really fucking weird that he'd keep the underpants for this long just for the purpose of burning them at a later date...
